So is Leo dreaming? Deexan , I need your thoughts? Overall, great movie. Still holds up. Although, I already knew that. I re-watched it a year or two ago or whenever the fuck I got the steelbook. One of the best movies of the decade. Funny to think they gave Best Picture to King's Speech. The Oscars are so irrelevant it's hilarious.

I was JUST talking about the kings speech and how its a sign the Oscars can't seem to pick the right movies anymore.

Two aspect ratios. What is this, a Michael Bay movie?

Young Murph is less Jessica Chastain and more Emma Stone. She's missing the butt chin.

This is the scene where they foreshadow that Magic Mike can communicate through bookshelves.

You know it's a Christopher Nolan movie when you have to keep adjusting the volume. Quiet baseball scene turns into loud dust storm.

If Michael Caine never again does a Christopher Nolan movie, we now know why.

If Michael Caine never again does a Christopher Nolan movie, we now know why. He's a voice on one of the radios in Dunkirk.

Alright.
As we reach the 2 hour mark, it's obvious this movie should be over or at least reaching the end. To refresh your memory, Earth is dying. Michael sent Matt Damon and a few others to search for inhabitable planets. Matt Damon sends a message that he -
No Time for Caution!
- found such a planet. And so, Michael Caine sends Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway to travel to that planet with a case full embryos. Think of the plot to Alien: Covenant! Well, turns out that Matt Damon was lying and just wanted to use the vessel to escape the planet.
All this could have been done in 90 minutes. Shorten the exposition to 20 minutes instead of 40. Eliminate the water planet or at least make it part of a montage. Shorten those Adult Murphy scenes. They quicker they had gotten to Matt Damon the better. This is the meat of the story. It's where you learn that Matthew McConaughey's entire mission was a waste of time. He missed out life with his kids for a suicide mission. By the time this revelation is made you're almost 2 hours into the movie and the audience is restless. 90 minutes, Nolan. 90! Then use the next 30 or 40 minutes on Matt Damon shenanigans and bookshelf shenanigans.
