Dude was great in that film noir series last year as well.
A little disappointed that they won't give the role back to Thomas Jane, when thebfaukts of his movie weren't his, and he's clearly a dedicated fan of the character.

In the comics, Frank Castle also grew up in Hell's Kitchen and was friends with Matt as a kid, which makes for an interesting dynamic between the two of them. Since The Punisher is making his first appearance in the MCU on the Daredevil series, it seems likely they intend to stick with this part of the lore.
As for Thomas Jane, it's a shame but understandable. They want to make a clean break from what has been done before. It's kinda funny that he became such an advocate for The Punisher. I heard an interview with him once in which he was asked about the film, and he admitted that he had almost no memory of the filming due to the amount of drugs he was using at the time.

I know I'm late to the party, but I finally watched the first episode tonight and thought it was a really strong start to the series. I already like Charlie Cox a lot in the lead. Anyway, my aim is to do one a week, every Monday, until I finish the season. But I may double-up on episodes one week somewhere, we'll see.
