I spoke too soon. This is right down the street from me, not some Beverly Hills or Brentwood one-off gas station.

Shaq logic is so absurd that it's hilarious.

Ah, Hoover Street. Not exactly our city's most desirable part of town to be in.

It's much less desirable than Gordon Street.

San Francisco D.A. Chesa Boudin was officially recalled in today's election. Folks in Los Angeles are trying to recall their D.A. George Gascon and this will only throw gasoline onto that recall attempt. Both have been heavily criticized for being extraordinarily soft on crime by Republicans and Democrats alike so it'll be interesting to see how this affects things down south.

I don't think I ever saw an avocado in grade school let alone had one to eat.

VEGETABLES!? Things really have changed.
At least in regards to elementary school the healthiest thing we got was milk, and on Fridays they had chocolate milk which at the time was the greatest thing ever.
I remember the disgusting prepackaged pizzas they'd feed us, and we'd peel the cheese off and roll it into balls and literally bounce it off the cafeteria floors like a bouncey ball. That's what they fed us in the '90s. Looks like now they're getting their meals sourced from Whole Foods.

But best of all was the week of Thanksgiving. We'd get turkey ham slathered in gravy sauce. Yum.

When Ahnuld became governor all the soda and vending machines were replaced with "healthy" alternatives. We were all pissed because being able to buy soda and candy and decent pizza whenever you wanted was one of the things we looked forward to most in middle and high school.
I remember seeing this kid cradling five sodas into the room and proceeding to drink all of them in the hour long class. He ruined it for all of us. Fuck that kid.

I went to high school prior to Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michelle Obama. Our issue was the removal of off-campus lunch. It was my dream to be like Zack Morris and A.C. Slater and hang out at the Max. Maybe my girlfriend will be a waitress and cheat on me with her manager. Then I’ll catch the guy cheating on her at a night club I snuck into with a fake I.D. Or maybe I’d be like Screech and win the Casey Kasem dance off. But it wasn’t meant to be. Off-campus lunch was eliminated cause too many idiots were getting into car accidents. Plus after 9/11 you couldn’t have too many people coming in & out of the building at odd times.

We were denied off-campus lunch as well which pissed me off. After all those movies from the '80s and '90s we thought we'd be able to just roam around whenever we wanted and go grab In-N-Out Burger before heading back to school.
In our case, too many kids were sneaking off to smoke weed and not coming back to school.

My high school was fine with letting us leave for lunch... but I didn't have a car and there weren't any restaurants or anything within walking distance so it was kind of a waste.

We'll use it as the setting for Passion of the Christ 2: Reloaded, Revolutionized, Resurrected.

This is awesome. Definitely will get over there at some point to cure my blues over Netflix ending DVD rentals.
