At least they don't have to worry about drowning.

I said this in some other thread but we're supposed to have a record-level El Nino this year. Now rather than die of thirst we're all going to drown before getting buried in mudslides.

Yeah, it's dry as shit out in Folsom. Folsom Lake is almost empty, so sad.

Bond had uranium shrapnel in his chest for months. I think I'll be okay.

We'll take Oregon and Washington with us. And Nevada. Sure, we'll have Las Vegas and meth. Those are the last ingredients we needed to form a lasting government.

California fighting Trump on immigration. They're on the process of becoming a sanctuary state and getting lawyers ready to fight the federal government if they're denied funding as a result.

I think the last real bad El Nino we had pass through LA was in the early 90s. Stephen King's "The Stand" mini-series premiered that week as well. Both were considered a big deal.

We have a larger economy than most countries. Good luck with all that.

We have a larger economy than most countries. Good luck with all that. Exactly. Yes, like all states we rely on Federal funding. But... we have plenty to sanction the government with if we want, or we can find other methods of self-support. Companies like Facebook and Google are taking a stand against Trump, California can survive with Federal funding no problem. I'm not saying these companies will pump money into all of the programs vacated by Federal support, but it's a possibility I wouldn't rule out. We can play hardball right back. We have every industry here. If we aren't getting Federal money, how about we stop providing donor money to other states that are dragging us down? Trump is gonna bark at California, but I don't think even he wants to challenge it. There's a lot of repercussions he will not want to explore.

You guys should threaten to leave the union, start a civil war. Maybe that will get Trump impeached.

Doomsday SnoBorderZeroCalifornia in the process of eliminating Daylight Savings. Arguments ensure! I don't think people understand how the sun works. Yes, during the summer, it is nice to have daylight until 8pm BUT without daylight savings you'll still have it till 7pm. That's not bad. And daylight saving or not, in the winter, it's still gonna be pitch black by 6pm. I'm in favor of what California is doing and hopefully more states follow along.

Arizona doesn't have daylight savings time, and they seem to get along just fine. It doesn't make a whole lot of difference to me now, but it sure did when I was a kid. I had to come home as soon as the street light next to our house came on, so I always looked forward to it's coming, and hated to see it go.
