Having worked the service industry, I tend to be very patient and forgiving, but I also know shit employees when I see one. That's when I have to turn into an asshole customer. I feel bad but they deserve it. Even when I hated my job with a passion I still knew what the fuck I was doing and did it well and know others that were the same. I have low tolerance for shit workers, even when they were my co-workers, and know others that are the same. In fact, a shit employee makes the job worse for everyone else. I lost track of how many times I had to clean someone's mess. So even though I feel bad being an asshole customer, it's just not in my nature, someone has to set them straight. Although I also know that all asshole customers blend together and no lessons will be learned. These things need to be dealt with internally. I think it's story time....

I think it's story time.... Go on... I mean it sounds like you're about to tell a story relating to your rant.

I mean it sounds like you're about to tell a story relating to your rant. Not much of a story to tell. I went to pick up food and the employees ignored me. I was the only one there. I could even see my food on their counter. It takes a few seconds to ask "how may I help you" and just hand over the food. Instead they're walking around and chit chatting. I got upset and confronted them. What's the point of having a pick-up/carryout section if no one is gonna attend to the customer? I could understand if there was a rush but I was the only one there and could clearly see and hear them socializing instead of working.

Sometimes the clerk doesn't say anything to me in a drive-thru window after I get my food, then I get weirded out. I start to think they're not done and I sit there a second until I remember they're rude.

I start to think they're not done and I sit there a second until I remember they're rude. No one forced them to say, "have a nice day." If you say it enough it becomes habit. Even in a rush you'll automatically say it cause it's programmed in you. Even outside of work you'll say it! Sometimes the management needs to be held accountable. Bad training creates a domino effect.

I've had management do that to me. Took my card and then handed out the food without saying a single word.

This reminds me of when I ordered just a medium fries from my local McDonald's a few weeks back. It's a self-order only branch and I ended up waiting 5 minutes even though I could blatantly see at least half a dozen portions sitting there in the fries trough and there were at least 8 employees swanning around doing very little. Stupid automated future.

Stupid automated future. Yeah. McDonalds has gotten stupid with the touchscreen ordering. I bitched about that a month ago. It took 15 minutes for my food to arrive. If I had known it would take that long I would have just gone to a burger diner.

I've had management do that to me. Took my card and then handed out the food without saying a single word. Management can be the worst for that sort of thing, particularly in drive-thru. I can't speak for all fast-food places, but the one I worked at the emphasis was on Drive Thru times above all else. If management thinks it'll be faster to give you your shit without talking than they won't.

Drive thru is always priority, but if the place is well run, the customers inside won't notice the drive thru getting their food first.

Well, minimum wage will do that to people.
Plus, when they say"flexible hours" on their recruitment posters, they mean you have to be flexible to work when they want you to.

I know we're all super busy but now's the time to begin volunteering at your local democratic office. We need to get rid of Republicans in 2018. Trump ain't going nowhere and getting rid of DACA is only gonna strengthen his base. Don't let people sleep in 2018. Grassroots campaign. Get people registered to vote. Midterm elections are just as important as general elections.
