Hey everyone, here is an idea I have for a continuing thread series. Let me know if you think it will work. I was thinking about trying to pinpoint the important films throughout film history. However, I don't want to just make it an all-encompassing list, trying to choose them out of so many years. So here is my plan to both widen the scope and allow discussion of more films than the obvious ones, but also to focus the discussion so its not too overwhelming.
I will pick a year randomly. They will not be in order, they will jump around. For that year, we as a collective try to decide what are the 5 most significant films to come from said year. Once we think we have some sort of a consensus, I'll choose the next and so on.
Now, some of these years may be older and more difficult, so hopefully some of our more accomplished film historians will be participating.
We will try this out, if it doesn't catch on, oh well. If it does, it could be a cool thread series.
