This one is an analysis of how Mike Nichols depicts loneliness in The Graduate and what said loneliness needs to (spoilers: more loneliness). I also took the liberty and tagged a few of you. I feel kind of obnoxious doing that but the Creative Corner section is sort of buried here and I didn't want this getting lost in the shuffle. If you don't wanna be tagged just say so and I won't in the future. Anyway, this video is a bit of a change of pace from my last one. It's more of a straight analysis and lacks some of the sprinkling of humour the last had, and it's also focused strictly on The Graduate. All the same, I hope you'll give it a go and maybe it can lead to some discussion.

Please don't take this as a harsh criticism, more like a constructive suggestion. I think you will be much better served by investing in a better microphone. You can find some pretty good quality podcast mics on Amazon for relatively cheap which will work just fine. You've got a lot of good stuff in there and I think it will help improve the quality of your videos.

The only thing slowing that down is first spending money for editing programs and an external Blu-Ray drive for ripping footage. But yes, that's coming next. I thought about waiting until I had everything in place but I really wanted to hit the ground running and making stuff. Otherwise I was worried I'd keep putting things off and never getting around to it. It probably wouldn't hurt to rerecord the audio in those first two, honestly, once you pick a new one up. That's also something I'm considering doing in the future. Edit: Fuck it, just ordered a new mic. $150 without tax and its a model which is spoken of pretty highly. Thanks for giving me the push. |

New mic has arrived. A Blue Yeti and sound tests so far have been very good, certainly better than what has come before. Although fun fact, the two videos I've done so far were recorded with different mics. The first was recorded with my laptop's internal mic while the second one was recorded with a cheap usb mic that I had lying around. For the second video I also used a technique in audacity to reduce white noise. Not sure if it really made a difference but I thought I'd share that tidbit.
