I didn't watch The Thin Red Line for the longest time because I had a group of friends who said it was 'boring,' 'sucked,' 'lame,' and 'nothing happens.' I watched it for the very first time around 2010 or so and absolutely loved it. I bought the Criterion when it came out and have been meaning to watch it again ever since. I'll put that at the top of the list.
Speaking of lists, I use Letterboxd like a lot of you guys but I mainly only use it to track what I watch. This year I set a goal to watch 100 movies I've never seen before. That might not seem like a big deal, it would have been a cake walk for me a few years ago but working full-time and having kids, I think 100 movies is quite a feat. I hit the 100 mark a couple weeks ago but then I thought what would 2022 be? I finally decided that 2022 would be the year of the re-watch. I have a sizeable number of blu-rays and Criterions that still have their plastic wrap even though I bought some of them years ago. 'One of these days' is my thinking. But 2022 I'm going to revisit a lot of these, some of them I really liked and want to watch again like Thin Red Line, others I've watched and barely remember. I'll watch new movies too of course but going back to old films to try to suck more from their marrow is going to be my target this upcoming year and you guys talking about Thin Red Line only reinforced it.

Can't you use your phone? It'll be a little tinny but prob lessen your stress.
What I do for teams calls. Can't handle my laptops mic. It's awful.

I do have a new laptop on the way that work is reimbursing me for. If that doesn't work, then I'll know the issue's the headset.

Blue Yeti is a very good prosumer mic (it's what I use for my videos) but a bit pricey if you don't have regular use for it.
Also for what it's worth skink your sound quality doesn't bother me. Having fun guests with interesting things to say is much more important to me, and I think Ian too, than pristine sound.
It's also fun to hang out.

The mic I use is a cheap piece of shit, but it does have a simple USB connection so it's at least consistent and seems to avoid distortion, might be an easier fix that shelling out for a for real mic if you don't really need one. |
