So. many. mixed. feelings.
Honestly, she looks ok. Not Japanese but still ok. And she's not in some ridiculous fetishized costume.
I want to like it. I really do, but I'm still upset they played it "safe".
I'm also more suprised by the fact that Kuze is in this. It's either just a name grab from the series or I know exactly which story arc they're going to eviscerate.

I looked up the rest of the cast...I don't like their choice for Batou. Batou should be imposing and this guy looks far to young to be a special forces vet.
Their casting of Aramaki is interesting, if more militaristic. No idea what Juilette Binoche is going to be doing here and nobody else has a name yet.
They at least better have Togusa but honestly I'm going to be very annoyed if the rest of the team isn't in there.

As the movie progressed it was intended for her to act that way because she was becoming more aware of everything and losing her humanity. |

I watched the cartoon Stand Alone Complex and really while yes the show is anime nowhere does it say the title character is asian either. I like Scarletts look as far as that goes. Not angry over the white over asian actors here. Its my opinion its if they make the character good is all i care about.
