Seth Rogen on Sony Hack: "Everyone Is Doing Exactly What These Criminals Want" www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/seth-rogen-sony-hack-is-757710The trio said the media is giving the hackers just what they want by reporting on the content of Sony's internal files. “Everyone is doing exactly what these criminals want," Rogen said, comparing the media to a pawn shop that works as a fence for organized crime. Franco questioned how Sony can stop its movies from being distributed online but not its internal documents, to which Rogen answered, “It’s stolen information that media outlets are directly profiting from." Stern asked Franco if he was embarrassed by the disclosure of his $6.5 million paycheck for The Interview. Franco called it "one of the bigger checks that I get" but said his time was worth the money. Rogen said both of their Interview salaries were "a stupid amount of money, but it’s all relative to how much [the studios] are making off of it.” Directly addressing his issue, he's right. The way dozens of media organizations, and this very website, handled the initial data dumps with cutesy articles about 'Spoiled Angelina' and 'Wacky Channing Tatum'. They dug through the files to generate clickbait, they were posted right on this sub, and everyone had a laugh and gave tacit approval, ignoring the very damaging personal and medical information data dumps completely. The media tone on this issue has been terrible.. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ It is shocking that a lot of Media Outlets have made Sony the bad guys in this situation. if anything I agree with Howard Stern, we need to all take a step back and go the real criminals are these "Guardians of Peace" and so called Terrorists. They even want to blow up Movie theatres that show the movie. This is getting out of hand...

He's not wrong, but I also understand where Sony and the movie theaters are coming from. Releasing the movie online could be the best solution.

Ouch, what an overreaction to an insignificant movie. This is worse than Viacom chickening out on South Park about the Muhammad shit. This is a different situation. South Park didn't cause this much drama.

Well... That's it. Regal and AMC will NOT screen The Interview. The movie is dead before it was even released. That was 2014, everybody. See ya in 2015. What a bunch of fucking cowards. Hey everybody, next time a movie pisses you off now you know how to get it effectively banned without firing a shot.

South Park didn't cause this much drama. Tell that to the Islamic extremists threatening to blow up Comedy Central's building. Both cases are stupid, but I think this one is worse because we have nothing fear from these losers and North Korea. They would never do anything towards us, they know we'd wipe them out. An attack on South Korea is far, far more likely for them to sack up to. These theater chains are idiots for this, like Drac said nothing but a bunch of cowards giving in to empty threats by wannabe terrorists. Pathetic.

Tell that to the Islamic extremists threatening to blow up Comedy Central's building. The difference here is that these people are corporate spies. They destroyed Sony in a month. Not only did they leak documents and files to the press, but stole the contact info and social security numbers of its employees. Sony is literally facing numerous lawsuits from this. And on top of that, they're putting the public and movie theaters employees in risk. That is true. Obama would nuke them in a heartbeat. He has proven to be a ruthless commander-in-chief. But I guess Homeland Security and the theater chains would rather take action instead of being sitting ducks. If something were to happen, there would be a lot of finger pointing.

And now we've just proven how easy we are to control with fear mongering.
Sony is a corporation like any other. And hardly the worst one. Someone is testing the waters and we choked down the bait.

If only the Nazis had known that they could get The Great Dictator pulled by making a few empty threats and leaking a few of United Artists' letters. Freedom of speech is worthless unless people have the spine to back it up.

They didn't need Charlie Chaplin to scare America.

Freedom of speech is worthless unless people have the spine to back it up. Great point, making that film took a lot more balls and tackled its subject matter with actual intent on making a statement, whereas "The Interview" is just a comedy that appears like it was half-hearted and a better concept than a full feature. This is atrocious that they've given in so quickly to idle threats, now Sony is in the palm of these phonies' hands.

DraculaSnoBorderZeroKnerysBUT WAIT. THERE'S MORE... deadline.com/2014/12/north-korea-thriller-gore-verbinski-steve-carell-canceled-new-regency-1201328532/North Korea-Based Thriller With Gore Verbinski And Steve Carell CanceledThe chilling effect of the Sony Pictures hack and terrorist threats against The Interview are reverberating. Fox and New Regency has scrapped another project that was to be set in North Korea. The untitled thriller, set up in October, was being developed by director Gore Verbinski as a star vehicle for Foxcatcher star Steve Carell. The paranoid thriller written by Steve Conrad was going to start production in March. Insiders tell me that under the current circumstances, it just makes no sense to move forward. The location won’t be transplanted. Regency has other movies with Verbinski as part of a multiyear, multipicture deal, and they will focus on them. He moves on to A Cure For Wellness, an elevated horror film written by Revolutionary Road scribe Justin Haythe, and Passengers. There also is a large-scale action comedy scripted by Conrad. The plan was to make three films in quick succession. Now they will make two that way.

North Korea is behind none of this people! Someone is playing with smoke and mirrors. The fact that people are reacting like they are only serves to embolden their delusions for power.

That's true, I don't know who I'm supposed to direct my animosity towards though. Many believe that it's an inside job. Sony fired a shitload of people this year.

I'm just going to sit tight and wait for the movie, Sony: The Inside Job. One of my relatives works for Sony, but it's for Sony MUSIC and not Sony Movies, but we should try and make that documentary ourselves.

I'm just going to sit tight and wait for the movie, Sony: The Inside Job. Perfect, I'm going to try and tab the director of "Jobs" to do it, he has a real knack for portraying realism.
