I think people kind of forget just how good this first Thor is. I raved about it when it came out… but it’s one of those MCU movies I haven’t bothered to rewatch. That and the first Captain America.

I think people kind of forget just how good this first Thor is. Again, clunkier than I remember.
Thor is one that went down slightly for me this time.
Well, to be fair, I actually quite like the Asgard scenes and I have no problem with the "nebulous power", as you put it.

Captain America 2011
A fundamental film in the franchise. I do wish it was just slightly more entertaining.
- Hayley Atwell is great. She looks very much of the time.
- The grenade scene is so pivotal and works really well to establish this character for us.
- I wish they eased up a little on the futuristic weapons in WWII.
- Hugo Weaving as Red Skull works really well. He's a pretty standard villain, but looks great and is well-acted.
- There's no way Bucky survives that fall.
- Cap kills a lot of people. I know its a war, but he kills a lot of people.
- Its a good thing they started off with finding the plane in the arctic, or else the ending would be really jarring.
- Small Steve Rogers is a weird effect. It looks good at some parts, but really awkward at others.
Overall, I liked it more than when I first saw it, but its still not top tier.

I've always thought that the First Act of First Avenger was the most interesting part of the movie. Not that the rest is bad, just not as strong as how it starts.

Yeah, First Avenger falls flat in the second half.

Most of the early MCU films have really good first acts and then kind of fall apart in act three. Iron Man 1 is a good example of this. Avengers is kind of the opposite. Weak set-up but it really comes together in act three.

The Avengers 2012 The movie that arguably changed the last decade of film.
- The movie gets better as it moves along. The first act is underwhelming, the second gets more interesting, and the third is great.
- I don't like turning Hawkeye into a bad guy, as this is basically our introduction to him. Something just doesn't sit right about that.
- Scarjo is great in this.
- I found myself laughing at a lot of lines, like "His first name is agent" and "Son, you have a condition."
- They really make Cap's earnestness work as a great character trait which clashes with the others well.
- The alien dude that Loki always talks to is ridiculous.
- The Coulson-trading card thing is really dumb. Are we supposed to think that all these heroes weren't on board until then? Really stupid plot device.
- The attack on New York still holds up really well. Some great moments of action and cool comic bookish shots.
- The script has a lot of great set-up/payoff elements to them. In particular, I like Tony trying to encourage Bruce to embrace Hulk, Cap telling Tony he's not the type that goes for the sacrifice play, and Black Widow's interrogation techniques. 8/10 Ranking: 1. Avengers
2. Iron Man 3. Thor 4. Captain America 5. Iron Man 2 6. Incredible Hulk

I agree with a lot of your points. Particularly how the movie takes a while to really get going and its use of Hawkeye.

I enjoyed First Avenger much more on my most recent rewatch.
And yeah, through this point of your rankings, Avengers is the best. That was a memorable theatrical run. Though, the first time I saw it in theaters was 3D, and that was total ass.

Iron Man 3 2013
Its funny to me that the Iron Man trilogy was over quite early in the MCU's run. Anyways, lets look at IM3.
- This is a really solid action movie. The house collapse scene is great, as is a lot of the climactic fight as well.
- The sequence where Iron Man saves the people falling from the plane is awesome. I like that it shows a superhero saving people, which is something that can often be lacking in modern SH films.
- The scenes with the kid are lots of fun. I like the cameo he has in a particular later film in the series. That was a nice callback to this.
- The Mandarin reveal is hilarious and was very unexpected. A fun twist.
- There are lots of small things I like with the henchmen and how they are given a little more spunk to them. One of them actually does what I always wonder why more henchmen dont do, but actually give up and walk away.
- I'm not a fan of the Extremis villains. They're okay, but kind of seem like they are from a different sort of movie. But their threat does seem imminent. I also like that the technology doesn't really work well, which would otherwise cause lots of story complications for the franchise.
- I dislike the complaint of nerds whining "Where are the other Avengeeeers!?", because it doesnt really matter. But with constant threats to the company and to the president himself, it does seem like something they'd bring Cap in for.
- They do a great job making Tony vulnerable in this movie, which seems necessary after three previous outings. Some of it is the suit malfunctioning and being isolated, part of it is him actually dealing with the fallout from Avengers.
Overall, a top notch marvel movie I dont think gets enough respect in MCU film circles.

Went to shitty theater for Infinity War (my friends fault), but still electric experience. Endgame was a great imax experience. Though I don’t love endgame.

I avoided 3D showings whenever possible Only Marvel movie I saw in 3D was Dr. Strange, which felt appropriate. Looks like I'm also going to see Dr. Strange 2 in 3D, but that's just a coincidence of timing.

Yeah, Iron Man 3 is underrated I feel. Most certainly the kid is a little bit annoying but I think it's arguably the best iron man (again haven't watched the og in a long time), I remember being so afraid happy Hogan was dead. Great flick to start off the new phase.

I think it's the best of the Iron Man films. It certainly has the best action of the 3.

Iron Man 3 is legit one of my favorite MCU films, period. It's so fun, funny and Shane Black brings so much to it.

Its funny to me that the Iron Man trilogy was over quite early in the MCU's run. … yeah… but… you know… Tony Stark is still the main character in a bunch of these movies and the Spider-Man movies basically revolve around him.

Thor: The Dark World 2013
This was often regarded as my least favourite MCU film, and I think it retains that title. Incredible Hulk is just very mediocre, but this one feels tonally wrong and downright boring at times.
- The film felt more like Lord of the Rings than a superhero flick. It seems like this would be cool, but it feels out of place.
- I really don't like fake-out deaths, and Loki's is one of the worst.
- As keeping consistent with the first Thor film, the best parts are on earth. I think Darcy and her intern are really funny.
- The fight through the space portals is really cool, reminiscent of the doors from monsters Inc.
- The dark elves are awful villains with no discernible motivation other than destroy everything... for some reason.
- The rock monster Thor fights in the beginning looks like it may be the same species as that rock alien guy he hangs out with now.
- There is a lot of careless building destruction in this film, which always makes be wonder "Who is going to repair all this?"
- The plot involves Jane being infected by the ether, but the actual moment when this happens is a massive plot contrivance.
- Thor returning to Jane in the after credits was a weird choice.
5/10
