I've been hearing Tyronne Lue is the front runner for the Rockets job. Van Gundy has been away from coaching a lot longer than I thought, considering he did a good job with the Rockets during the Tracy McGrady, Yao Ming days. Not sure if he rejoins the Rockets, but someone should hire Van Gundy.

How and why would analytics morey hire a guy like jvg?
This reeks of desperation. Morey should be fired if he's this afraid to implement his ideals/strategy.
That said the rockets are fucked no matter what.

I kept hearing Houston, but this has always seemed like the logical move to me. Lue would be wise to take the Clippers and not the Rockets since Houston is in a state of flux moving on from Morey and determining if they stick with Harden and Westbrook.

That would be incredible.
And would make knicks a destination though, could treat him right and other superstars wanna come eventually. They such a joke now it's tough to even get free agent meetings.

Do players want to play with Westbrook? I like him, but his playing style is not exactly cohesive with other stars.
He would probably get the Knicks to a 25-win season though, so there's that.

Yea I absolutely hate his style of play, and hearing he changed plays to just call his own number during playoffs makes me think he's a terrible team mate.
But would be fun to get a superstar in msg.

Do players want to play with Westbrook? So you’re saying it would be fitting to end his career with the Knicks? Poetic, really. He’d be in the shadow of KD — in the same city.

The Clippers do have a chemistry and leadership problem, and it stems from Kawhi and Paul George. They both need to drastically step it up in that department or they'll suffer the same fate they did this year.
Let's keep in mind too that the Warriors are going to ostensibly be healthy this season, so the West is only going to get tougher.

Looks like Ringer is ending NBA desktop.
Liked it the few times I've seen it, but hope it doesn't mean Conception is leaving.

They don't need a young star, they need to replenish their bench which has entirely depleted since their title runs. Starting lineup of Curry, Thompson, Wiggins, Draymond and whoever the fuck they want at center is really strong. That bench is paltry though, evidenced by them being the worst team in the NBA this year with their stars out (Draymond played and proved he ain't a star lol).

It's not ideal, but what's the alternative? Start in January and have a bunch of back-to-backs to finish the 72? I mean, maybe the NBA needs to scale it back to 60 games or something instead, but the players, teams, and networks are not going to like the scaled back revenue as a result.
In the end like Max said, these guys are millionaire athletes. It's hard for me to sympathize with Danny Green (and who the fuck cares what he thinks anyways lol) when the entire country, hell the entire world, is reeling from this pandemic and many are still out of work with no return in sight. We all know that the next NBA and NHL seasons will be compromised in some capacity before we get back to the regular 82-game seasons for both sports, so really it just is what it is. If LeBron doesn't want to show up for the first 10 games of the year, that's a bad look on him that he'll have to live with. You can also stagger lineups and have LeBron sit out a game while Davis plays and so on.
Again, I get that we just finished the season and the idea of the next starting in less than two months when we haven't had a draft or free agency period is insane. But better to not be like MLB and drag a nasty dispute like this on for awhile.

LeBron just mad he has to deal with this so soon after winning the championship.

Good point, the shitty teams are well rested. But still, we haven't had the draft or free agency yet but they want training camp to start after Thanksgiving? That is a tight window that only Kevin Spacey approves of.
