Truth be told, wearing a mask for the entirety of a feature length movie sounds decidedly not fun to me. I wear glasses that get fogged up a lot whenever I wear one. I can grit and bear it for the twenty minutes it takes me to grocery shop but a 3 hour movie... I don't know. Frankly I feel like being in a confined theater at all is the real risk here, if you're going to do something stupid it seems a bit silly to act like a bit of fabric over your mouth is going to make it that much safer. Realistically, I don't think anyone will be wearing masks inside the auditorium, especially if they're eating and drinking. But standing in line at the box office and/or concession and walking through the lobby, it would be common courtesy to wear a mask.

I don't see how that's in any way practical for The Alamo. You can't wear a mask when you eat. As much as I want to go to the movies again, I think I'm going to have to wait. I can't stand wearing a bloody mask for more than twenty minutes at a time. Also, I've read a few articles recently about how the health experts in other countries think that the US is being run by lunatics, for allowing safety measures to be relaxed. Considering how the numbers are spiking everywhere they're letting people be together again, I can't help but think they're right.

Considering how the numbers are spiking everywhere they're letting people be together again, I can't help but think they're right. Of course they're right. The leadership on this has been abysmal. Even when there was some degree of will on the part of people to try to stop the pandemic through quarantine and social isolation there were tons of idiots refusing to be team players and Trump did seemingly everything possible to erode public will just so he could fellate some fringe supporters. Then the protests started and the liberal people who had been trying so hard to make a principled stand about strict distancing basically abandoned their principles and gave people permission to ignore public health guidelines if they thought it was for a good reason... which also gave people with not so good reasons permission to do the same, and now people are opening things up out of sheer wishful thinking despite every indication that it's a terrible idea... so now we'll have basically tanked the economy for nothing and massive numbers of people are still going to die so it's the worst of both worlds.

Let's not forget Fox News's part in all of this. They bullshitted so much that they actually convinced some people that the fact that numbers were lowering during quarantine was definitive proof that "This isn't as bad as the liberals and Fake News are making it out." You know, maybe it was the quarantine that was attributing to those low numbers, but continue with your bad take, jackholes. A number of those deaths are on you.

Let's not beat around the bush. The left prob has more anti vaxers who will certainly come into play in the future, but this is squarely because this country consistently has amnesia every other cycle.
'why not let the other side have a go at it?'. This is why. Leadership matters.

It's a movie theater. They'll charge way more than that.

You have to provide your own mask or the cinema does it? I seriously doubt it. The threshold for what constitutes a mask is very low. Any piece of cloth draped over the mouth and nose will do. I accidentally left my mask at home last weekend, and couldn't get into my favorite bookstore. I just went to Walmart. They were all out of bandanas, but they did still have cloth napkins. I bought a two-pack, got a safety pin out of my jump bag, and I was good to go.

Employees are required to wear one, but customers have it optional so they can be better at yelling at employees for being stupid enough to wear masks. Or maybe that latter part is just a red state Idaho thing.

I got out of there as fast as I could.

SpongeBob going straight to VOD. That leaves August 7 open. So does Tenet move to August 7 or does Bill & Ted? 1godzillafan

Cuomo pushing theater openings in NY back again. Cali doesn't look to be ready to reopen at all either.
Would they really open tenet without those two enormous markets?

My local dollar theater opened back up. Considering seeing Trolls just to get my fix. There's also something called Max Winslow and the House of Secrets. I should watch that too just in case.

They probably don't want to open it at all. I'm sure there would have been a lot more money to have been made by simply moving it to next year... but they gambled that the virus would have been better managed than it was and would have been more in check by now... which in retrospect wasn't a very good bet.
