Doomsday and SnoBorderZero weren’t around to watch Mandalorian star Bill Burr rescue a neighborhood theater. Apparently, they haven’t had a sold-out show since Passion of the Christ. Yeah — this certainly looks like a place that hasn’t had a crowd for 20+ years — except for high schoolers looking for a place to have sex.

SnoBorderZero, did you ever listen to the Dracula DVD commentary track in which Coppola shits on Tim Burton? We got stuck with Sofia Coppola in Godfather III cause Winona Ryder (the original choice) chose to do Edward Scissorhands instead. Then he gets Ryder for Dracula and she spends half the time randomly bringing up Beetlejuice or Edward Scissorhands. And so, like, 15 years later, Coppola decides to spend a good portion of the DVD commentary bitching about it. lol.

Someone needs to make a collection of all the great DVD commentaries, I revisit the Affleck/Armageddon one quite frequently.

Someone needs to make a collection of all the great DVD commentaries, I revisit the Affleck/Armageddon one quite frequently. I didn’t have an enormous DVD collection. That’s IanTheCool territory. But my favorites were: — The commentary tracks on the Freaks & Geeks set, in particular, the one in which Judd Apatow grills the NBC executives that cancelled the show. — Richard Donner and Tom Mankiewicz on Superman ‘78. — Christopher Frayling on any Sergio Leone movie. Richard Schickel was good on Once Upon a Time in America. — Bruce Campbell on the Evil Dead movies. Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert are good too, but if you’re looking for shit-talking, Campbell the way to go. — The Danny Elfman commentaries on Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure & Edward Scissorhands. In hindsight, they might not be that great, but I can’t think of any other music-only commentaries right now. Those might be the only ones I owned. In general, Judd Apatow commentaries were good. Sam Raimi too. I like Mel Brooks on Young Frankenstein. You can skip Blazing Saddles. He halfassed that one. Robert Rodriguez ones are good too. Trying to think what else I had. Those are the ones that come to mind right now.

Just the idea of talking about my high school days and going to the movies every weekend with my friends, every single weekend, sounds archaic.
