Everything else there is stuff I saw with my Unlimited Pass. Except for The Goonies, but I hate the Goonies.

Cuomo pushing theater openings in NY back again. Cali doesn't look to be ready to reopen at all either. Would they really open tenet without those two enormous markets? They probably don't want to open it at all. I'm sure there would have been a lot more money to have been made by simply moving it to next year... but they gambled that the virus would have been better managed than it was and would have been more in check by now... which in retrospect wasn't a very good bet. Warner Bros doesn’t want to open it. It’s Christopher Nolan who keeps insisting.

There was a story on Deadline or Variety that said Warner Bros. wanted to move Tenet at least back to the Fall but are keeping it in July to keep Chris Nolan happy, who is adamant it be one of the first movies to welcome everyone back to theaters, aka reap said good press.

On the one hand, though, he IS a high-profile talent who's made the studio his home for the past fifteen years and has made them lots of money and given them well-regarded movies in that time. Of course they'd want to keep him happy.

Lol, what the fuck is Bloodshot doing on there? Nobody wants to watch that garbage.
But that is a cool way to ease people back into the theaters and give their staff trial runs for when Tenet opens. Seeing some of these on the big screen again is very tempting.

Bloodshot had just opened when theaters shut down. Sony probably wants to squeeze as much money out of it as possible.

Of that weekend it was my favorite, because those other two were yikes.

Maybe I missed it in your guys' discussion but is there a reason/speculation as to why Nolan wants to release Tenet so early? Most theaters won't be anywhere near capacity and a lot of other people are going to stay home anyways rather than risk getting sick.

It’s an ego boost.

I don't know...WB said they'd need a good number of New York and LA theaters open in order to feel like they could put out Tenet. If half of those won't even be open, Nolan may have to throw in the towel.
