Dogtooth is 2009 anyway. You guys can go ahead and re-do 2009 if you like.
This was the list:
Avatar Inglourious Basterds Paranormal Activity District 9 Hurt Locker
I mean, really, Hurt Locker? District 9? Y'all can throw Dogtooth in there.

Didn't get a non-festival U.S. release until June of 2010, was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars in the same 2010 ceremony as The Social Network and The King's Speech.

It was commercially released in Greece on November 11, 2009. It's a Greek movie, released in Greece in 2009. It's a 2009 movie. Besides you whole argument is that it influenced M. Night Shyamalan. The movie played in Cannes in 2009. It played in Toronto in 2009. I'm sure M. Night Shyamalan watched it in 2009. It's 2009.

We should ask Yorgos Lanthimos, a Greek filmmaker if his Greek movie, released in Greece in 2009, is a 2009 movie.

He happily accepted his Oscar nomination in 2010 and almost surely had a laugh at losing to to the Bird Box lady alongside fellow nominees Alejandro González Iñárritu and Denis Villeneuve.

Dogtooth is 2009.

Neil Blomkamp is the South African M. Night Shyamalan.

I vote for Biutiful. It influenced Michael Bay to direct the Benghazi movie.

Okay, now lets take a fresh look at 2011 and revamp our list. What stays? What goes? What replaces what goes?
A Seperation Drive Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 The Tree of Life X-Men: First Class

Swap X-Men for Contagion and swap Harry Potter for Certified Copy and I think we're good.

What was our reasoning for XMen in the first place?
I do think Bridesmaids should be here, love it or loath it.

What was our reasoning for XMen in the first place? Something about it being a sequel instead of a reboot or something. Neverending was obsessed with getting it on the list and we eventually caved to the filibuster.

The Jurassic Park franchise would also be in that boat, doesn't mean we should be calling Jurassic World "important." But Fast Five did more than revive its franchise, it essentially made it. The movies went from a middling action scene headed to a DVD bargain bin into one of the biggest and most beloved series of films of the decade. I'm not ride or die for this series so this isn't really a personal pick, I just think the size and appeal of these movies shouldn't be ignored. Bridesmaids makes sense as a pick, except in hindsight what was its impact? It felt like a big deal in 2011 but is it still?

The series was arguably already back in the mainstream after the box office success of Fast & Furious. We like to ignore that because that movie sucked, but it made a whole lot of money and if you want to point to where F&F phase two started it was that.
