There's also Where are my Children, a controversial film about abortion.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1916) first motion picture filmed under water. For 1916, that's pretty damn impressive. They used a system of water tight tubes and mirrors to film a shallow tank of water. Waterproof cameras still weren't invented yet

Because it's awesome has some iconic imagery and was something of a turning point in Chaplin's extremely important career and is still watched by people who aren't writing dissertations about early 20th century birth control debates.

I'd be open to dropping Slacker for Thelma and Louise. Why? You guys fought to the teeth for Before Sunset, when Slacker is probably Linkletter's most influential film.

I'd be open to dropping Slacker for Thelma and Louise. Get off Dracula's cock. Yeah, because I'm jumping all over Raise the Red Lantern and My Own Private Idaho. I'd be open to dropping Slacker for Thelma and Louise. Why? You guys fought to the teeth for Before Sunset, when Slacker is probably Linkletter's most influential film. Thelma and Louise is something of a benchmark for an unambiguous feminist view-point in mainstream cinema, and its titular characters have become fairly iconic and influential. As for Slacker, I think one could make the argument that as far as micro-budget indie inspirations go, we already have El Mariachi and Clerks. Between Thelma and Louse and Slacker, I still lean towards Slacker, but a good argument might sway me. Anyway, I'm not budging on Silence of the Lambs, T2, and Boyz N the Hood. I maybe have some reservations about Beauty and the Beast, but I do think it did a lot to elevate the status of big-budget animated films as more than just fare for children.
