I think having Andy Serkis read the books to me would really bother me, for some reason.

I thought the ending was very good, yes. The book overall wasn't as good as Tiamat's Wrath, but it was good. More specifically... Major Expanse spoilers: WHERE THE FUCK WAS FILLIP?? Part of my motivation to pick up these last books was to see the reunion and it WASNT THERE! WHAT!
The final chapters were pretty good, but that epilogue? Hoo boy, that was a bit silly. Would've ended great with Naomi saying we'll have to find our own way into space. Perfect.

Want to hear my ending? Magic omniscient Holden apparition: I'm sorry that I'll be leaving you forever. You've faced a lot of hardship first with losing your son, and now me, but the good news is that he's still alive. I found him.

That's ... Not too bad. But she's kind of a public figure and he hasn't reached out since so... I didn't mind the foreveramos and would prob read a few of his adventures. Really enjoyed how they ended the series though.
Making it a video game after it was shut down when pitched for one would prob make me pick up some vidya games again.

Polished off the 50 hour Truman - I was too quick to judge he was a real one.
Read audition the novel that inspired the takashi miike cult classic - slow burn but only 5 hours not a bad read.
Moving onto the Woodrow Wilson bio by a Scott berg.
Debating doing a red rising relisten at least the last two before lightbringer comes and smashes me in the face in mid July.

Yes, there's about 7 or 8. So far I've read "Drive" and "The Butcher of Anderson Station" which were both touched upon in the TV series.

Moved onto American midnight, just happens to be the next book available to me. Picks up right as Wilson is dying and harding takes over as president - so I'm perfectly primed on context of the time.
Also kicking off some nebula award nominees from 22, girl who wrote the poppy war wrote something new but it's just so standard - orphaned fish outta water quickly comes up to speed in a fantastical world - speaking of the nebulas I think there are far too much fantasy involved in a lot of them. Almost every nominee from last year has fantastical elements, only slight scifi.
But the world turns and old men yell at the sky so I'll just keep adding to my library list.

American midnight absolutely destroyed any and all good feelings towards the entire Wilson administration, can't believe how much is glossed over, dude surrounded himself with absolute scum, f his first and second wives too. Pure scum.
Glad he suffered a stroke and his whole body forsaked him before he died, I hope it hurt.
Moving on to spear by Nicola Griffith.

Smoked through almost all of the red rising series as the next book drops on the 25th. Can't wait for that shit.
All the light we cannot see has been pulled and I'll start that shortly.
Non fiction - moving on to American lion. Time to see what the lovers of Andy Jackson saw in him - I think he's a complete douche bag but have to admit his influence is felt everywhere.

I know the sequels are better, but Red Rising was just such a bore to me.
I just finished Guns, Germs and Steel. Now working on Malazan 9: Dust of Dreams.
Lies of Locke Lamora is next.

Try golden son. It's truly quite the ride.
If you find that one boring throughout well nothing to be done, but I have a feeling you won't if you give it a college try

I just finished Lies of Locke Lamora. Strong world-building, fun characters, and a constantly moving plot. Highly recommended.
Now I am back to trying to finish Metamorphoses (which is basically homework at this point) and Malazan 9.

Now I am back to trying to finish Metamorphoses (which is basically homework at this point) and Malazan 9. The Kafka book? Isn't it like a novella at best? Light bringer was destroyed over 5 days and it was glorious. Doing a relisten now - couple decisions I felt were rushed so he could finish the book but still awesome. Have literally nothing else in the pipeline though. Buncha random books on presidents but nothing moving the needle.
