I picked up Double Indemnity and Miller's Crossing. Planning on getting Raging Bull and Summertime next week. I might pick up Rififi and When We Were Kings depending on my mood. I feel like I should pick up Citizen Kane even though I have two other versions on blu ray but I just don't feel compelled to. Almost did Rififi. Next time.

My wife's cousin is getting married in a couple months. He's a big movie fan, not sure if he's dipped his toe into Criterion collecting but I thought I would pick a couple and give them to him as a personal gift (in addition to whatever practical wedding present my wife wants to give). I'm trying to think of a couple good, not terribly obvious flicks that he might want to watch. Any thoughts? They don't have to be wedding-related, just aiming for quality but not super popular.

Does Criterion Channel have the long version of Fanny and Alexander? Yes, they have it, broken up into episodes.

October releases
Lost Highway Arsenic and Old Lace Cure Eve's Bayou La Llorona Night of the Living Dead 4K
Lost Highway is dope. Otherwise, this doesn't much excite me. Not wild about Aresnic and Old Lace and Eve's Bayou is something I respect more than I really love. I should probably see Cure though.

Will definitely pick up Night 4K and Arsenic. I've heard solid things about La Llorona, so I might give it a spin on Shudder in the near future to see if it's worth a buy.

Very happy to see it here. Will get to that as soon I can get my net to stabilize, which will hopefully be this weekend for MST3K. And speaking of both MST3K and Criterion in the same thread:

I really liked Drive My Car. Not sure if I'd ever watch a Criterion more than once but then again I have a lot of Criterions I probably won't get to rewatching for a long, long time.

Paris, Texas just arrived in the mail. One of the best, if not the best first watch I had from last year's AFI list.

I got The Breakfast Club on Criterion as one of my birthday gifts. Very nice.
But also, and I know this isn't Criterion, as a birthday gift to myself, I found a copy of the Arrow Limited Edition Blu Ray of RoboCop on eBay. The one with the 80-page booklet, movie still cards, poster with original artwork on one side and Arrow artwork on the other, three cuts of the movie (including the edited-for-TV version) and a boatload of special features. It also happened to be located in Raleigh, NC (which is about 45 minutes from where I live). I ordered it Tuesday, it got here today and it's glorious.
