I'm about to spin the new Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid release. Based on what I'm reading the 50th anniversary one is close to the definitive version? There are a few different cuts they were kind enough to provide for us to haggle over.

Well that's just great. Maybe I'll make my own cut! If you want the full rundown I go over it in this Cinema in Seconds episode from a couple years ago starting at 22:48
... but the catch is that the Criterion disc actually has a new anniversary cut that's a little different than the one I talk about here and that the "preview cut" on the criterion disc is actually a different preview cut than I'm talking about as well. So things have actually just gotten more complicated.

Grabbed The Friends of Eddie Coyle, Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion, and Medium Cool, all unseen, plus A Face in the Crowd and The Long Good Friday. With my $40 credit, the order only cost me $84, including shipping. Even with duties and CAD conversion I'm still saving well over 100 bucks. |
