I'm not a Twitter-er but I saw some of the replies and yeah, just a bunch of guys dick measuring and ignoring your posts. I'm convinced that Criterion could completely make up a movie, call it 'Labrador Dawn' and say 'Coming in September' and a bunch of assholes would say 'FUCKING LABRADOR DAWN IT'S ABOUT TIME WOOOOO!'

This might be a touch melodramatic but this whole episode has convinced me to uninstall Twitter on my phone. People are so eager to be dicks over the most innocuous shit and I fucking hate it. And I hate that I do it too. It's so shitty. Twitter is also an unnecessary distraction that, beyond effect on my mood, I probably spend too much time on it. I hate that if I feel a lull at home watching a movie a part of me instinctively reaches for twitter. Uninstalling should help. The biggest downside is I'll have to find something new to look at while I'm taking a shit. I think I can live with that burden though. |

whoa, I just got home, what the hell happened? I responded to the Criterion announcement tweet by expressing disappointment that Criterion seems to be focusing more on "making discoveries" instead of on the major releases people keep asking for. I think this got a bit misinterpreted and people seemed to think I was asking for, like, superhero movies or something. They were rather rude about it. My attempts to explain my point didn't seem to help. |

I picked up Double Indemnity and Miller's Crossing. Planning on getting Raging Bull and Summertime next week. I might pick up Rififi and When We Were Kings depending on my mood. I feel like I should pick up Citizen Kane even though I have two other versions on blu ray but I just don't feel compelled to.
