Fuck it, I just went ahead and ordered from my work computer. Picked up Eraserhead, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Macbeth.

Guess what y'all! That order I placed earlier today put me over the 500 points mark so I got a $50 gift certificate. I immediately used it to buy The 39 Steps, Ace in the Hole, and Slacker, thus getting both the flash sale price and the $50 off!

God damn it, I'm not in the position to be spending money and they pull this shit. I don't spend much money. Every now and then I'll buy a DVD of a film I really love (yes, not a BluRay) because they're cheap. But that's really it. I live a pretty austere lifestyle.

I made a little note to myself not to buy any (or many) more Criterion movies until I've watched some of the others in my collection I haven't seen. That said I think I'll buy The Innocents next month during their B&N sale. Not much else I'm really hurting for that I don't already have.

Nice collection man, makes me jealous and want more Criterions. My friend lost my Hoop Dreams, I got it for just $10 at Amoeba in San Francisco

Nice collection man, makes me jealous and want more Criterions. My friend lost my Hoop Dreams, I got it for just $10 at Amoeba in San Francisco I only have that many because I never buy them at full price. Every one I've bought at a discount, usually 50% during the Barnes and Noble sale or Criterion flash sale. The B&N sale starts next month so that would be a great opportunity to pick some up.

January titles are a bit of a meh. I've seen Palm Beach story, it's good but nothing I'm gonig to need to own. Sword of Doom is also good but it remains a pretty slim package on the supplements front. Not too interested in My Winnipeg and don't know anything about that Argentine film. Bitter Tears is probably something I'll try to watch though, been meaning to catch up on my Fassbinder.

Just a quick reminder--maybe some of you already know this--that the next sale will start on November 11th (B&N).

I'm interested in Watership Down, in large part because the cover is identical to the version of the novel I have.

Finally a proper Blu-ray release of Don't Look Now that features Roeg's approval, as the UK Studio Canal release is supposedly terrible. Also, just pleaseeeee release Bad Timing. They've already released all his others that are in the collection on Blu-ray.

50% off at Barnes and Noble, plus use BFRIDAY14 and get (maybe) an additional 30% off. Today only I believe, so jump on that.
