I'll admit, I laughed at the train falling off the track. But hopefully they don't overdo the "oh man look at how small Ant-Man is!" joke.

I guess considering how "dark and serious" Marvel is starting go with some of their adaptations, it does make sense that they need to throw in a few genuinely silly properties like Ant Man. Still not sure if I'm psyched for it like I was with Avengers and Guardians, but I have no doubt I'll enjoy it.

That's a great use of viral/guerrilla marketing.

I like that trailer - I didn't bother watching it here, but it's been playing on Hulu and I'm pretty interested now

That last poster is not to bad. I still prefer the almost completely white one with the little Ant Man on it.

Using humor to sell this movie is the best thing they could have done.

I have never read a single Ant Man comic so I do not know a single thing about the character. I do like what I am seeing in the trailers and I love Paul Rudd so I would like to see this one succeed. I doubt it will though.

True, the marketing has been great. Loving the Avengers posters they just released but I just have that feeling that the generic audience won't be seeing this one like they would for the bigger names, or even in the same way they did for Guardians of the Galaxy. It will do just OK but I am not expecting a sequel. Still going to see it and support it though.

Yeah, Ant-Man is likely to be a success. As for the potential for sequels, that really just depends on how much Marvel Studios wants to push the character. Captain America: The First Avenger only made $370 million on a budget of $140 million, which is not particularly good in Hollywood math. Ant-Man sequels are the sort of movie that would perform really well during between January and March, when all the other studios throw out the trash. Weird stuff that might not otherwise find a receptive audience will have them show up just to avoid an obvious stinker.

It's still kinda weird they're going with Scott Lang instead of Hank Pym.
If they were trying to avoid the spousal abuse, they could have gone Irredeemable Ant-Man.
Scott Lang just isn't that interesting of a character. And I think most comic book fans look at the spousal abuse thing as one writer's incredibly poor decision, like Carol Danvers' space rapist.

Isn't Michael Douglas playing Hank? You know there will be an Agent Carter type show for Hank in the future.
