Yeah, both endings are... a bit underwhelming. The original ending with the special edition music is all you need. It's a fine ending.

Yeah, it's an awful scene regardless, but the CGI of the second one is (as Donald Trump would say) terrible, terrible. The music is better, but doesn't fit the scene AT ALL. The reverse can be said about the ending. Frizzo the Clown can praise it all he wants but that Ewok song is fucking terrible and is an awful ending to the trilogy. The ONE change I approve of is this one. I don't know if I've ever specifically praised the original Ewok song or not, but damn it, its the one the grew up with and had for the majority of my life. So, there is a lot of nostalgia built in.

I like the original ending for the same reason, but I do like the newer song. It's a very feel-good tune.

None of the attacks carried out by the Rebel Alliance in The Trilogy were terrorist in nature. They were purely military. The only attack carried out in The Trilogy which was terror related was the destruction of Alderaan.

The guy getting worked up about explosions in the vacuum of space lol. Fucking nerds. This is why you don't pay attention to nerds even though they're the target audience. If you'd listen to that dude you wouldn't think this would become the biggest movie of all time.

..... yeah, that was always a possibility once Disney purchased Fox. That said, if we don’t get the original version that means Lucas put a clause in the contract.

This is not surprising. Fox was going to lose the distribution rights to Star Wars in 2020 (with the exception of ANH), so it makes sense that they've been working on one final major release before the license expired. Since all that work has already been done, it makes sense for Disney to go ahead with the plan, although there's no longer any deadline they have to worry about. As for a theatrical cut, I'm not going to hold my breath. Under Fox, there was an excellent chance, but Disney may not care.

Apparently it was a change made by Lucas years ago, before he sold it off. Doesn't really explain why they still used it...

Lucas originally wanted Dexter Jetster to come take their order.

Alright, so it looks like what Greedo is saying there is "ma klounkee," which has come up previously in the series in a scene in TPM where Sebulba says “Neek me chawa, wermo, mo killee ma klounkee,” which is subtitled as “Next time we race, boy, it will be the end of you.” So, it's an extra shot of Greedo saying "I'll end you." I guess Lucas thought that Han needed verbal confirmation he was in danger beyond being shot at first.
