It was relatively later in life that I learned that Return of the Jedi had so much hate. I was very surprised.

Am I the only one who loves Return of the Jedi? You haven't voted on this poll, so clearly not.

I kinda wish disney would release a cut of star wars with the original releases but yes they could keep in the expanded cities but please cut out the stuff fans hate and put back in older anakin at end of jedi and the end jedi theme.

IanTheCoolPeter Mayhew will be posting pictures of the original Star Wars script for the next several days/weeks/months. Then, he has a MAJOR announcement to make. Most people are speculating that he's done playing Chewbecca and another actor has replaced him.

Disney knows that they're sitting on a goldmine. At the same time they know that if they release them they'll never be able to release any new type of set again save for those that will include the latest movie to be release like what James Bond does. They'll release it one day and hopefully soon.
I told my girlfriend recently if/when we have kids that they're going to be raised on the original theatrical Star Wars even if it means hooking up my VHS player and watching those.

Disney knows that they're sitting on a goldmine. 2017 is the 40th anniversary. If they do anything soon, it'll be then.

Thanks for the heads up. The Despecialized Edition is great. I can't wait to find out how the Silver Screen Edition compares.

Okay, I just finished downloading the Silver Screen Edition. Wow, that was a REALLY big file. 21.8 GB! As for the image quality, it's only for people who want to discover what it was like to watch a print of a movie that has been run through a projector 5,000 times. I'll stick with my Despecialized Editions.

I'm Canadian so this is useless to me. Beyond that, I refuse to pay any money for any of the altered versions of Star Wars. Originals or GTFO.

It was Star Wars on the big screen. You couldn't pass this up. And I honestly don't remember anyone bitching about it. It was after The Phantom Menace that I started seeing all the "Han Shot First" stuff.

The Alamo Drafthouse down in Omaha is still stylized like the Death Star with the Emperor's chair and all. I'd much rather prefer to see the originals without all the "enhancements" that were added from the last time I saw it on the big screen. Otherwise it's a great theater to see these in.
