By the way... it's gonna be super weird when the new movies are released and it's the fucking Disney logo. The Fox logo and the musical fanfare are a big part of the Star Wars saga. R.I.P.Honestly, I don't think we'll get the Disney logo. What I think will happen is that anything LucasFilm produces will be like movies from Disney's other studios like Touchstone and Marvel. Those movies are Disney owned, but use the logos of each respective studio instead. As such, I believe anything from LucasFilm will do the same, especially with the success the Marvel films have had (despite not having any Disney branding at all).

If they ever re-master the original trilogy, I hope they undo that annoying neon overkill, eg... light sabers, spacecraft afterburners, etc...

They should just pay 20th Century Fox royalties to use their logo at the beginning of the films. Fox will earn something for nothing, Disney potentially offers a "complete" Star Wars film experience, and the fans can begin their latest Star Wars experience in orgasmic exhilaration. Everybody wins.

Since we seem to have managed to skip over the horror of the Star Wars Holiday Special this past Christmas, here's some more pain from my childhood.

People talk shit about J.J. Abrams going from Star Trek to Star Wars, but here's Leonard Nimoy promoting Return of the Jedi in 1983:

What's funny is that there's an entire generation - i.e. my dad - who love Star Wars and brought their children up on the original trilogy - who don't even realise that there's another movie coming AND that it's going to feature the original cast.

So, do we know yet if the rumor about Disney re-releasing the unaltered original versions on Blu Ray is true? Cause, I haven't watched these movies since the early 2000's, and I want to do so again before Episode VII comes out, obviously.

The rights are tied up. Fox still owns the original.
