I dont think the BB8 was a steelbook. If it was, then I'll be disappointed... It's a steelbook. All the Wal-Mart's near me are sold out. I will probably buy it online or say "fuck it" and get the Target one. Although the Target one is bullshit. Their exclusive content is online only. Just give me a bonus disc! Whatever. Maybe I'll do like Dracula , PG Cooper and SnoBorderZero and wait for something better to come along. I doubt this will be the last blu-ray release for The Force Awakens. I'm sure they'll release something else in the future.

I pre ordered mine and it came on release day. Besides I have found that some of Walmart DVD s copies are kinda bad. I stick with Best Buy.com or Amazon.

IanTheCoolYeah, you're right. Best Buy has the steelbook, which is Kylo Ren on the cover. Regardless... the BB-8 packaging is sold out where I live. So I'll just wait for a future release.

IanTheCoolI went to Wal-Mart, to buy some random stuff, and there it was: the Star Wars blu-ray with BB-8 on the cover. It isn't in great condition. You can tell that an employee found it laying on the warehouse somewhere. But fuck it, I bought it.

They're both wrong. The prequels sucked AND the new one is mostly just winks to the old one.
And Star Wars is not the "grand daddy of sci-fi," give me a break...

The uncle of sci-fi? The adoptive father of sci-fi?
The father’s brother’s nephew’s cousin’s former roommate of sci-fi?

I'm almost 30 minutes in and they haven't talked about Force Awakens at all. It's all about the Star Wars franchise as a whole and shitting on George Lucas again.
I had a feeling that this review would be a stretch because while Force Awakens wasn't a 10, it certainly wasn't bad. They're spending a lot of time in their Force Awakens review not talking about Force Awakens. But I'll press on!

The review is a little broad and unfocused at times but I like all the parts so I don't really mind.

It's not uncommon for a Plinkett review to go for a broad view of the subject. The review of Star Trek (2007) spent a great deal of time discussing Trek as a whole, Hollywood's trends toward sequels, spin-offs, and franchises, as well as the widening array of entertainment options available to the audiences of today.

All that so we can learn Force Awakens was basically A New Hope... Say what you want about the prequels, but atleast they tried to do something different rather then give us the same dang story with updated effects...

I'm into them going off topic and taking a broad look at things. They did it for Star Trek, Indiana Jones, they do it frequently in their Half in the Bag reviews, but we've seen them shit on George Lucas before. Several times in fact. I think they did it again and threw in that boring 'ring theory' segment as filler because there's not a whole lot you can say about Force Awakens other than point out that it's A New Hope which people have been doing since the day it came out. They'd be better off with sticking to their Half in the Bag reviews for future Star Wars movies.
