Doomsday going Hollywood is the worst thing to happen to ComingSoon. We’re experiencing a golden age in show business cynicism and Mr. Mandalorian over here is hanging out with the Illuminati. I hope Katt Williams comes for you next. The meme worthy Argylle, from the twisted mind of Matthew Vaughn, opened at #1 with $18M. It is the latest flop from Apple Studios. Good luck to Martin Scorsese. Netflix. Apple. Dude’s running out of streamers to finance his projects. It also continues 2024’s godawful box office. Madame Web can’t arrive soon enough. Opening next weekend, just in time for the Super Bowl, is Lisa Frankenstein. PhantomKnight will need to watch that to recover from Argylle. On Wednesday the 14th, Valentines Day, we’re getting Madame Web and Bob Marley. Because nothing says Valentines like Madame Web and Bob Marley. I think PG Cooper will finger bang during Madame Web and penetrate during Bob Marley. Shooting the Sheriff but not the Deputy will have a totally different meaning on the 14th. Remember to clean up after yourselves. Those teenage employees don’t get paid enough.

I'm really surprised that Diablo Cody is still a thing.

I'm really surprised that Diablo Cody is still a thing. She never really went away. Jennifer’s Body. United States of Tara. Young Adult. Tully. One Mississippi. But yes, it’s difficult to top stripper-turned-Oscar-Winning-Screenwriter of Juno.

Early Valentines Day projections. West Coast still in business. Doomsday getting laid as we speak. $14M for Bob Marley $6M for Madame Web Critical reviews for both movies are awful but audience reception for Bob Marley has been positive. This is our resident movie critics PG Cooper and IanTheCool after their Bob Marley screening.

Thursday Estimates: Bob Marley — $3.75M Madame Web — $2.2M Also, thebtskink’s Anyone But You (a December release if you recall) had a huge bump on Valentines. It was #3 with $1.17M. Domestic total is $81.99M. It’s on pace to surpass the Marvels. Doomsday, how do you like them apples?

President’s Day is tomorrow. There’s still money to be made. But I know Doomsday is anxious to see how Bob Marley did. $27.7M for Marley. $45.5M total. $15.1M for Madame Web. $23.3M total. In other news, Anyone But You surpassed the Marvels. We did it, guys! Opening next week is Drive-Away Dolls. Finally! As far as Dracula is concerned, 2024 begins next weekend. Ordinary Angels, the Hilary Swank no-budget film that ran away from the Taylor Swift concert film, will be released in time for Lionsgate to do some quick money laundering before the spring. And of course, the latest Demon Slayer. PG Cooper hyped of course.

Welcome to the last weekend of 2023. Dracula and PG Cooper don’t acknowledge January and February. Dracula has the Golden Stake Awards and PG Cooper boycotted February due to Black History Month. But next weekend comes Dune II (some of y’all are watching tonight’s sneak preview) so I guess they’re forced accept March as a month of the year. So how did the final weekend do? Bob Marley repeated at #1 with $13.5M ($71.1M). The new Demon Slayer made $11.5M. Ordinary Angels did $6.5M, just edging out Madame Web at $6M ($35.4M). Now here’s your 2023: 1. Barbie — $636.2M 2. Super Mario Bros — $574.9M 3. Spiderverse — $381.3M 4. Guardians 3 — $358.9M 5. Oppenheimer — $328.5M 6. Little Mermaid — $298.1M 7. Wonka — $214.54M 8. Antman 3 — $214.5M 9. John Wick 4 — $187.1M 10. Sound of Freedom — $184.1M 2023 was a lopsided year at the box office. Doomsday Wonka was the only movie from the second half of the year to crack the Top 10. Unless you disqualify the money laundering Sound of Freedom. In that case, you end up with Taylor Swift at number 10. But Swift had inflated ticket prices. If you put an asterisk on that, you end up with Indiana Jones at number 10, which is great news for SnoBorderZero and Beverly Hills Cop 4. IanTheCool asks, “so — what happened to the Flash and Fast X??” lol. Opening next week is Dune. Welcome to 2024, guys. We did it! So, who’s running for President this year?

I don’t normally do this cause Hollywood accounting can be deceiving. But 2023 was the year that superhero movies died… so why not. Top 10 most profitable movies. Source: deadline.com 1. Barbie 2. Mario Bros 3. Oppenheimer 4. Spidey Verse 5. Wonka Doomsday6. Taylor Swift 7. Five Nights at Freddy’s 8. Sound of Freedom 9. John Wick 4 10. Guardians 3

PG Cooper and the Ghostbusters busted into number one with $45.2M. Afterlife opened to $44M in November of 2021. Doomsday and his Lady Ghostbusters opened at number two in July of 2016 with $46M. The number one movie that weekend was Secret Life of Pets (in its second weekend) with $50.8M. That movie starred sex pest Louis CK, who got replaced by Patton Oswalt in the sequel. Patton is in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. Also, 2016 was amazingly 8 years ago and these numbers should probably be adjusted for inflation. Regardless, this is amazing consistency by the Sony films. One last fun fact, Doomsday’s BFG and the farting dogs was number nine that weekend! BFG was in its third week. Dropped all the way to nine. Legend of Tarzan. Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates. Purge: Election Year. The Infiltrator (starring Bryan Cranston). All did better than BFG. Dune Part II is in second with $17.6M ($233.3M). Kung Fu Panda 4 in third with $16.8M ($133.2M). thebtskink and Immaculate are in fourth with $5.3M. 2024 is starting to cook. Has IanTheCool watched any movies this year?? Opening next weekend is Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Will SnoBorderZero also instigate when that comes out? Stay tuned.

Ghostbusters did better than expected. Still no interest in it. Even less so for Godzilla-Kong.
Let me know when Garland's Civil War comes out. Then I'll go to the movies again.

1godzillafan x Kong: The New Empire opened to $80M on this Easter weekend. When they say, “he has risen”, they’re referring to King Kong dick slapping Ghostbusters to second place. It grossed $15.7M ($73.4M). Dune: Part Two is hanging on with $11.1M ($252.3M). Kung Fu Panda 4 is in fourth with $10.2M ($151.6M). Opening next weekend are Monkey Man and the First Omen. Those are two separate movies, not the title of Doomsday’s autobiography. We have completed the first three months of 2024. I know. Crazy. Dracula and PG Cooper still think it’s January. Here’s where we at so far. 1. Dune: Part Two — $252.3M 2. Kung Fu Panda 4 — $151.6M 3. Bob Marley: One Love — $96.2M 4. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire — $80M 5. Ghostbusters: The Frozen Empire — $73.4M 6 Mean Girls — $72.4M 7. Beekeeper — $66.2M 8. Argylle — $45.2M 9. Madame Web — $43.7 10. Night Swim — $32.4M

I have seen a total of one of those movies. Before last Wednesday that number was zero. Judging by the list that one movie was the only one worth seeing.
