So is there a definitive edition of Metropolis? I've seen a few different releases but is there one go-to that's considered 'the' version to have? Unless they find some more footage in a Argentine closet somewhere the 149 minute "complete Metropolis" Blu-ray from Kino is pretty much definitive. There's still one missing scene and certain segments look notably worse than others, but I don't think there have been any substantial new discoveries since that came out in roughly 2010. |

My old supervisor is on this week's Team Deakins podcast. It gets a little technical but it's cool listening to how visual effects have progressed and how they touch on almost all other aspects of film production. Worth a listen if you need something to fill an hour.

Just watched Mustang which was brought up on Ian and Coop's film club podcast episode. I'm glad you guys talked about it because it wouldn't have been on my radar otherwise. It's very good, much better than Rocky Horror Picture Show.
