I don't hate what he does, I just settle back and accept it's not for me and I have little interest in it. If people get value in it, cool, but I just get glazed over with apathy.

I haven't listened to it yet but saw Young Mr. Lincoln on the list. Whatever scene you guys picked I guarantee it doesn't beat the riveting, enthralling, suspenseful, white-knuckle pie judging scene.
Just eat the damn pie, Abe, just eat it!

That Terminator story you guys jokingly propose about a Terminator who goes back in time and falls in love is kinda not to far from being the actual plot of Terminator: Dark Fate.

There's a narrative history pod on the rise and fall of AICN. Interesting for the behind the scenes stuff, and is frank about what a POS Harry Knowles was.
Unfortunately the writer/narrator/editor is a dead fish, and makes wild statements like comparing Knowles to Charles Foster Kane.

One day, but it is not this day. Because Drac is on to talk about blu-rays collections.

Somehow managed to get Terry Zwigoff's name wrong in this one, also named the wrong Diseny movie I needed to buy on DVD, it was actually Make Mine Music. Shall be kicking myself for these sins.

At first I wasn't quite sure about the theme when I saw the title but ended up really digging the new episode. I've really scaled back on blu-ray purchases lately, nowadays they're mostly what I pick up during Criterion sales but I have maybe 300 or so total, not sure how many DVDs I have boxed away. As someone with kids around though I really have no privacy to watch blu-rays and almost all of my movie watching is done from my computer. It won't be like this forever though so hopefully I'll be able to crack them open more easily in a few years and by then maybe they'll actually want to watch a few of them. I have a Charlie Chaplin poster at the top of my stairs which is the same that's on the cover of The Kid and the older one really wants to watch it. That's waiting in the wings when she learns how to read in a few years.
But that dig at BFG did not go unnoticed. How many directors other than Spielberg have the balls to have the Queen of England farting in one of their films? None, that's how many.

Back in the day I used to organize by title. Simple and efficient. As I got older though I started to organize by director then chronologically. I was never that particular about it but I did keep them pretty organized on a shelf for the most part. Then I moved in with my girlfriend/wife. We have a downstairs basement area attached to our garage and for a while my collection lived down there which was great because we had an extra TV and I could turn it into my own lair. It also prevents the cases from getting any sun damage, we all have those movies in our collection that are super dim and washed out for sitting near a window for too long. Then kids happened and the movie lair turned into storage. Then my father in law one day bought some wall storage things and put them into my wall when I was at work. Now he and my wife probably thought it was a great idea at the time but in reality these things really suck. The cases don't really fit in there, it's more like they rest in there and sit all wobbly. My garage door is on the right and a light slam will easily send a bunch of them crashing to the floor. Also, it's hard to tell based on the photo but the movies near the top are probably 8 or 9 feet high which makes a lot of them pretty tough to reach. Anyways, I tried to somewhat organize them a while back but after cleaning them up one too many times after someone closed the door too hard and after having to reach to get to a lot of those slots I kind of gave up. There's no real organization there, a lot of them are some of my wife's old DVDs (you can spy Sex and the City DVDs near the top in the middle) and a lot of my other blus and box sets are on another shelf in the back of the room. When the kids are a little older and I don't have to worry about it I'll take those shitty units down and give those flicks a proper space after opening up some room in the lair again. My Criterions are another story though. I have a separate shelf for those and they're organized by director and chronologically. I have a lot of one offs where a filmmaker is only represented by one movie but I do take some interest in keeping that thing organized and currated.

I see Taken 1 and Taken 2 but not Taken 3.
Clearly not a completist.

It's a complete disaster. It prevents me from organizing anything, it's broken a few cases because it's not very secure and they fall and they're absolutely going in the fucking garbage the minute we move.
Unfortunately I'm too nice to do anything about them. My previous shelves were also taken over with wife and general house stuff so I don't have anywhere to put them. Marriage problems.
