Hey everyone, we were hoping that some of you would be wanting to do some guest host gigs on the podcast, now that we have it up and running. I'll throw some dates out and their topic and let us know if you are interested. We are limiting to one guest per episode. Basically just pick a couple of movies based on the topic and come up with a small moment from each that you want to talk about. Here is what we have planned thus far with recording dates and topics: April 20: Best Picture Oscar winners May 4: films of the late 80s Do we need to have, like, a high quality microphone to make that work? |

Nope. You can use whatever you have available. The only thing you'll need is audacity, which is free, and also has a noise reduction feature which makes even the most basic mics pretty doable. But yeah, internal laptop mics, gaming headsets, whatever you got. |

Do we need to have, like, a high quality microphone to make that work? Nope. You can use whatever you have available. The only thing you'll need is audacity, which is free, and also has a noise reduction feature which makes even the most basic mics pretty doable. But yeah, internal laptop mics, gaming headsets, whatever you got. I'd probably be willing to do it if you'll have me, that BP winners episode is probably in my wheelhouse. |

Not sure if anyone posted about it before but has anyone listened to Roger Deakins' podcast Team Deakins? He and his wife put it on and they just talk to film industry people about film, that's it. They have all sorts fo folks from directors to cinematographers to visual effects supervisors to gaffers. I've listened to a couple and it's a good, easy listen while guys just talk about what interests them.

I'm disappointed they don't call it Peak Deak, but it does sound like a good show. He provides an email where you can send him questions and from what I understand he's great at replying to people. We should send him that suggestion. I've been trying to get Peak Deak going as an expression for particularly nice-looing Roger Deakins movies. Example: "I love The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. That shit's Peak Deak." Sadly, it has yet to catch on. |
