I really want to listen to his episodes on the Punic Wars but those cost a little $$$. I'm strongly considering it though considering how good the Blueprint for Armageddon episodes are.

Always download the free episodes.
I would buy them all, it's a cup of coffee, and it lasts hours.
The khans multi parters are amazing.

Yeah, I ended up buying the other series of his after listening to all the free ones: the death throws of the republic, the punic wars, and the eastern front series.

They just put on a new Hardcore History episode yesterday. It's a 6 hour ep about Julius Caesar's invasion of Gaul. I'll save it for when I'm done with Blueprint for Armageddon.

Also, if anyone likes comedy Norm MacDonald just started doing new episodes of his podcast. He has all sorts of guest comedians he interviews, some funnier than others but the funny ones are really good. Also, one of his sponsors his first season was the Mangrate. They cancelled their sponsorship because he continuously made fun of the product on air.

Just saw that Amazon came out with a series based on the Lore podcast. About to give it a whirl.

I've been listening to the Infinite Monkey Cage which is a British science episode, which is replacing Startalk for me for my science fix. Startalk has a lot of issues, like massive commercials, a comedic cohost who isn't funny, discussing the same things over and over, and Billy Nye just gets increasingly more obnoxious. Monkey Cage is funnier, more diverse, and no commercials! Also Ramplate, you should check out Thinking Sideways, a podcast about unsolved crimes and other mysteries.

Just saw that Amazon came out with a series based on the Lore podcast. About to give it a whirl. The Tim Allen episode is great. I heard he was an a-hole in real life but he came off as really personable and likable on this podcast. Jim Carrey on the other hand has lost it. He wouldn't shut up with his pseudo-philosophical jibberish about 'not really being here' and 'we don't exist, our essence exists' or whatever. You could tell Norm was thinking 'give it a rest with your crazy, dude.'

You could tell Norm was thinking 'give it a rest with your crazy, dude.' Tim Allen is alright. As a Hollywood conservative he’s learned to explain himself better or at least tone it down. Jim Carrey has just gone nuts in his old age. Dude is off his meds. He did Howard Stern when Dumb & Dumber To came out, that was like 4 years ago, and it’s sad to see how much worse he’s gotten.

New Hardcore History today.
I also recommend JK Simmons' guest on the latest Bill Simmons podcast. The man is a goddamned treasure.

Just hearing some of the other podcasts on Earwolf besides How Did This Get Made.
I Was There Too is interviews with bit parts and people with actors in famous movies. I'm starting with the one interviewing Tom Wilson aka Biff about Back to the Future. It's a cool perspective to approach the movies.
Also, Unspooled is sucking me in now. Its Paul Scheer and a movie critic Amy Nicholson going through the AFI 100 2007 with their reviews of the movies. They've done 5 or 6 so far and I think they're starting to find a rhythm. Amy's is a nice perspective to hear, one that I dont agree with all the time but definitely is challenging my perceptions about movies I love

Alright, I'm listening for Scheer, but Nicholson has TERRIBLE movie opinions.
I'm halfway through the Shawshank pod of Unspooled and she is irking me to no end.

I'm on my third time through Dan Carlin's Hardcore History episodes about WWI.
He does such a great job of showing the utter futility and horror of that war I just find myself coming back to it. There's so much to take away.

Love audiobooks? And Michael Ian black?
Yes on both for me.
Obscure is solid as hell. I hope he continues reading classics I passed up because I'm in.

As someone who has only ever seen the first Harry Potter and hated it, Binge Mode is taking way too long meandering on a shit series instead of getting back to the content I crave.
