I got that “member exclusive” stuffed crust pizza from Papa Johns. I don’t know what I expected. It’s not re-inventing the wheel. What I find noteworthy is that Papa Johns is famous for putting their toppings underneath the cheese, but they didn’t do in this case. I think Doomsday was a pizza boy in Orange County. He might know the science behind this.

Yes we always would have lasagna for Christmas and we are 0% Italian.

What is your heritage? Funny how different cultures have different stereotypical meals for holidays. I'm Irish on both sides of my family. If you go back far enough on Mom's side there is supposed to be some Spanish heritage mixed in. I have had a lot of potatoes in my lifetime!

Probably.  There are catches like that with most "deals."  Like, if you ever have one of those "free thing after your card is punched ten times" you're basically just going through a lot of trouble and exhibiting a lot of brand loyalty just to get what is effectively a 10% discount.

There's a McDonald's in Arlington, TX that's been at the same corner since the 60's.  It continued to look like a 60's McDonalds until the 90's, when they finally took down the big golden arches at the front of the building.  Other than that, the building remained the same.  Recently however, the scourge of the ugly gray box struck this landmark down.  They demolished the original structure and replaced it with one of these awful boxes.  Admittedly, I don't eat at McDonald's.  I go there almost exclusively to use the bathroom while travelling and grab a small chocolate shake as the price of admission.  That said however, it still chaps my hide.  

I ordered Pizza Hut online, but then realized I forgot to add an item. I contacted the store in hopes of getting that resolved. Well — it turns out that Pizza Hut has outsourced its phone service.

Operator: Thank you for contacting Pizza Hut! Will it be for carryout or delivery?

Me: Um, hi, I placed an online order but would like to make an adjustment to that order?

Operator: Ok — I’ll transfer you to the store.

Me: ... um... what?

*gets put on hold for 15 minutes*

*delivery driver arrives*

Me: Hi, um, I’ve been trying to reach your store. I wanted to order an extra item.

Delivery Driver: Oh man, sorry about that. I have an extra liter of Pepsi in the backseat. My gift to you.

Me: ... um... okay? ... sure... I guess.

Delivery Driver: Cool. Cool.

*goes back to his car. Gets me a bottle of Pepsi.”

Delivery Driver: Here ya go, sir. Happy Holidays. Have a swell day,

*me still on hold on the phone*

There’s “adult happy meals” at McDonalds.

Taco Bell currently has grilled chicken burritos, taquitos and nacho fries. I guess the diet begins in 2024.
