Up to 37% now, but this is looking like it's a turkey. I'll still see it this weekend, but this is a major disappointment.

Fear not, it's up to 40% now!
From what I'm reading it seems like a movie you'll enjoy if you liked Man of Steel and vice versa.

After taking quick glance at the few positive reviews, I can't help but notice that even most of those still have complaints about the movie.

IMDB has it at 93% and yes that could go down but it had some good reviews.

Most of the reviews point out that the movie is humorless and not much fun. So were The Dark Knight movies and those were thoroughly enjoyed by many

Zack Snyder is definitely not a talented director, WB should have choosen someone else to build the DC Universe.

Not trying to defend this movie. I'm the #1 hater of Man of Steel. But the reviews do raise an eyebrow.

Sounds like Marvel is paying the reviewers off a bit considering Marvel is mentioned in few of the negative reviews. These guys just must not be able too handle other then Nolan or other then Marvel success. DC and there movies is good for comics in general and people should want these movies to succeed.

Or that Snyder isn't a very good director.

Yeah, Marvel is so concerned about this movie that they're paying critics to write negative reviews. It's not logical that the critics would be comparing this movie to successful Marvel films at all, the only reason they even mention Marvel is because they're in their pockets. I mean, who has ever heard of critics comparing same genre films to one another, it's crazy! By writing Marvel in this post, now it's apparent to everyone that I'm being paid off.
The sad thing is that Vader is not the only person who thinks this. When a movie isn't good and gets mediocre reviews, the apologists always want to jump to absurd conspiracy theories.

Marvel is so concerned about this movie that they're paying critics to write negative reviews. Surprisingly, I'm seeing this accusation pop up in other sites. I guess RedVader isn't the only nut.

That's what I was saying. Apologists on IMDB are sticking to that. So stupid. Why would critics have an affinity for Marvel movies? Aren't they supposed to be too high brow for those? People always attempt to justify when bad or mediocre movies get the reviews they deserve as some sort of grudge or conspiracy. I'm pretty sure critics from major publications and newspapers don't give enough of a shit about these movies in the first place to even warrant that as being probable.

who didn't see that coming? I think we all gave Zack Snyder the benefit of the doubt because Batman is involved, but yeah, considering that Man of Steel is a piece of shit, it really isn't a surprise. And Justice League is supposed to begin production in April - that'll be interesting.

The worst part from what I've gathered from critics is that the movie isn't even good, dumb fun. How the hell do you make this movie boring? If it was just a silly, overblown but fun in a guilty pleasure way this movie would've ended in the 60-70% range. Snyder just is not a good director. Visually he's interesting, I'll give him that, but his characters and storylines are always so psuedo-serious and at the same time dull. He can't balance anything. His big action set pieces always overstay their welcome and just become tedious (Man of Steel is a great example of this) and then the rest of the running time is filled with dry characters and dry dialogue. He hasn't grown as a storyteller since Watchmen, and that's pretty alarming.

He hasn't grown as a storyteller since Watchmen. Dawn of the Dead, 300 and Watchmen weren't bad. But it has been a trainwreck since Sucker Punch. It's possible that he's surrounded by yes men - or gives REALLY LOUD opinions. He managed to convince Christopher Nolan that Superman killing Zod was a good idea.

Yeah, I liked his first three films to varying degrees. Those weren't the deepest of movies either, but they had enough to support his visual flair. Since then he's just abandoned any attempt at shoring up his most glaring weakness as a filmmaker.

It was THAT bad. Man of Steel - I didn't hate to that degree. There was also that owl movie, Legend of the Guardians. I can't even tell you what the fuck that movie was about. I liked it when I saw it but have almost zero memory about what it was about.

Battle: Los Angeles should be hated on far more than it is, that movie is downright awful. It's the only movie I almost fell asleep during while at the theater. Seriously.
Sucker Punch and that owl movie were total "what the hell" projects. Like he's following up Watchmen with these? The dude really needs to take some time away from features and work on his craft. He's starting to veer towards Alex Proyas territory. Then again, Sucker Punch is his Gods of Egypt, so maybe he's already there.
