Something tells me that they are going to have a big scene where Batman drops Supes on his butt. Not sure how it will happen, guessing Kryptonite will play its part somehow.

After several eyewitnesses spoke of seeing IMAX cameras on the Chicago set of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, a spokesperson for the company has confirmed to Variety that portions of the film will indeed be shot in the large screen format. This will mark director Zack Snyder's first use of the cameras, though some of his past films, including Man of Steel and Watchmen, have been screened in IMAX venues. This will stand as the seventh studio movie to be shot with IMAX cameras, including the forthcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Twitter user Mike Eisenberg posted to his account that, "Batman vs Superman has multiple IMAX cameras and they aren't working right because of the cold. Welcome to Chicago." Since Snyder's production moved to the Windy City, there have been many reports from bystanders on location, including what appears to be another re-enactment of the iconic murder of Bruce Wayne's parents. Starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Jena Malone, Holly Hunter and Scoot McNairy, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25, 2016. www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=125143

I've spent the last week watching a lot of Batman - Nolan's films, Burton's films, Batman Forever and even Batman and Robin, along with a handful of episodes of the 1960's 'Batman' series. I came away feeling really nervous about Ben Affleck taking on the mantle.
If playing Batman is what turned the actor into a household name (Bale, West, Keaton to an extent), better performances seemed to emerge. If the actor was already well known (Clooney, Kilmer to an extent), then the performance wasn't really there.
As famous as George Clooney was in 1997, I think Affleck is arguably beyond that level. Affleck has certainly turned his career around being behind the camera and delivering more nuanced performances and I'm optimistic because of that, but I just thought this was interesting as well.
I suppose you could also argue that the director had a say in the outcome as well (Nolan and Burton for the better films, Schumacher for the weaker), but a lot of people don't like Zack Snyder either.

Christian Bale and Michael Keaton were both well established actors who held leading roles in numerous movies for years before they took on the role of Batman. They were both far more established than Clooney or Kilmer were when they played Batman. As for the responsibility of the director, I'd have to say that the director played a crucial role in the failure of Kilmer and Clooney's films. Clooney in particular would have made an excellent Batman in the hands of a competent director with a quality screenplay.

Kilmer was a GREAT Bruce Wayne. With a better director he could have had a better Bat man legacy.

Clooney makes for a good Bruce Wayne. He never once made it even believable that he could be Batman. As for Keaton, he had many a naysayer before the movie and stunned them all. I'm going to give Affleck the benefit of the doubt.

I said that if the role turned the actor into a famous, household name, then the performance tended to be better. I wasn't arguing that Bale and Keaton weren't established prior to Batman, clearly they were. I was arguing that the guys who were already pretty famous prior to playing Batman (in this case again, Kilmer and Clooney) turned in lousy performances.

JohnMichael Keaton was a star before Batman. Night Shift, Mr. Mom and Beetlejuice were big movies in the 80's. He was more famous in 1989 than Val Kilmer in 1995 and George Clooney in 1997. However, Batman did give him fame as a serious actor. He wouldn't be The Birdman without Batman and the dramatic work he did in the 90's.

Rumor right now is that this is being split into TWO films, the first of which would be titled 'Batman v. Superman: Enter the Knight' and would come out in October of this year. The second film would keep the same existing title and release date.
That would be kind of insane. I had wondered why they were filming so far in advance, and why they filmed for so long. This would make a lot of sense.

That would create a mess in October. London Has Fallen, The Jungle Book, Vacation (released by Warner Bros), and Crimson Peak will have to look for new release dates since none of them can compete with Batman vs. Superman. I think there's still room in August. Guardians of the Galaxy proved you can have a BIG hit in August. Warner Bros is releasing The Man From U.N.C.L.E. on August 14. It's a movie that hasn't even been advertised yet. They can move it to September 4 which is Labor Day Weekend and put Batman vs Superman in the August 14 spot. I think that makes more sense.

Wouldn't you rather have Batman in August instead of October? Your logic makes no sense, Tornado.

October is good. Helps spread the year out a bit better, otherwise the summer would feel really cramped.
Doesn't matter now though, sounds like this was debunked.

Someone enlighten me (preferably Wyld):
Does the Seven refer to the Seven Seas?

Why Wyld?
The consensus right now is that the 'Seven' refer to the most likely seven superheroes in the film - Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern, and Cyborg.

Ha,
I just suggested Wyld because he's usually encyclopaedic about this kind of detail.
I'm excited about the DCCU though. Copying Marvel may be a mark of desperation but I feel like interacting with other superheroes may be what Superman in particular needs to make him relevant and interesting again.

I think the DCCU has a lot of potential, and as someone who really enjoyed Man of Steel I'm excited to see what they do with the other characters. I'll reserve any more judgment until at least a trailer for BvS comes out.
