At the end of the day it's still a sequel to a crummy Superman movie with Ben Affleck as Batman. Color me skeptical.

At the end of the day it's still a sequel to a crummy Superman movie with Ben Affleck as Batman. Color me skeptical. I didn't like Man of Steel either, but there is potential that is still there. I don't think that Zack Snyder is the best person to build on that potential though, since he's at least partially responsible for everything that was wrong with MoS. My primary source of hope is the participation of Ben Affleck, actually. He brought in Chris Terrio (Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar winner for Argo) to rewrite Goyer's script, something which should always be done when hiring Goyer. The guy can come up with interesting story ideas most of the time, but he's oblivious to basic plot structure, logic and reason, hence the nonsensical plot of Man of Steel. I'm also hoping that Affleck will be able to reign in Snyder when he tries to shoehorn a scene into the film just so that he has an excuse for a "meaningful" visual, like Superman standing before a stained glass window of Jesus wearing a red cape when he should be consulting Jor-El's hologram. |

I feel like it's going to be completely a stand-alone film You do know Wonder Woman and Aquaman are in the movie and they set-up their movies as well as the Justice League? |

What I did like is This batman had a voice nothing like afflecks common voice but it didnt sound like he destroying his vocal cords to speak.

I'm probably alone on this, but this was my favourite part of the trailer:  I'm sold. He has the grim, desolate look that Bale never had and that Batman/Bruce needs. In Bale's defence, he was just starting Batman's journey in BB and TDK but even during TDKR when he was older he never had this hopeless look in his eyes of a man fighting a losing battle but continuing to fight anyway. |
