Three years ago I would have said A Clockwork Orange, but 2001 is the better film. A recent rewatch put it in my top ten.

Scorsese has maybe made 1 1/2 good movies.

Scorsese has maybe made 1 1/2 good movies. You're...you're trolling right? Or that was a typo and you meant to say he's made 112 good movies, but that's a bit hyperbolic.

2001 Space Odyssey! Such an amazing film, still to this day can't be touch on so many levels. I really don't think there will ever be another like it.

2001 definitely. I like Clockwork a lot too, but I don't know that it would even be in my top five Kubrick films.

Scorsese has maybe made 1 1/2 good movies. Silly, silly Ian.
Anyway, A Clockwork Orange. Admittedly, I think both are emotionally cold pieces of work, but for me, Clockwork has more going for it than just, "Oh, don't these shots look beautiful!" and "Isn't this deep stuff?"

"Oh, don't these shots look beautiful!" and "Isn't this deep stuff?" That's insanely dismissive.

"Oh, don't these shots look beautiful!" and "Isn't this deep stuff?" That's insanely dismissive. Then let me phrase it this way: I recognize and respect the film's larger ideas and ambitions, but that's all I have for the film; admiration. The execution is too cold for me.

2001 it is. Next, help old Doomsday choose between his two favorite Pixar movies.
Casino Royale Skyfall
Raiders of the Lost Ark Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Inception Interstellar
The Godfather Goodfellas
Taxi Driver Raging Bull
2001: A Space Odyssey A Clockwork Orange

Wall-E. Toy Story 3 was to much of a re-tread of ground covered in Toy Story 2.

Both are excellent, but I'm going to have to go with "WALL-E" simply because on top of its entertainment values the movie packs a wallop of a social commentary and beautiful homages to "2001: A Space Odyssey" that are beyond brilliant for a G-rated film.

You really can't go wrong, I gave both movies 9's for very different reasons.

WALL-E is certainly the more intellectual film, but Toy Story 3 speaks to me on a more emotional level.

Wall-E bis my favorite Pixar Film easily. Toy Story 1 being a close second... So yeah as good as Toy Story 3 is. It's not a movie I love to watch again and again.

Honestly, the first 45 minutes of WALL·E is better than anything in Toy Story 3. And I enjoyed Toy Story 3 a lot (though Drac's critique about it "retreading" was in my initial review as well). Stanton really "gets" that lonely, isolated feeling so well.

WALL·E!
And thanks to Justin for finding that dot in the title. Did you go to IMDb?
(Knerys too)
