Sometimes I have little debates/discussions/heated and violent arguments with friends regarding certain movies. I thought I would make a thread, post a poll for a few days with usually two options then do another one after a while. Sound good?
First, a little Craig Bond action.

Skyfall, I actually think it's the 3rd best Bond ever.

Skyfall. I don't consider myself much of a Bond fan, but Skyfall was just a pretty great film in general, Bond or not.

Casino Royale. I still think Skyfall was pretty over-rated.

Skyfall slips on rewatches. It's a lot more flawed than I initially thought. Casino Royale on the other hand is a great action movie with tons of memorable moments and scenes. It also doesn't have the "try hard" feel that Skyfall it does. It's changes to the Bond formula feel a lot more natural.

Casino Royale, what a great entrance for Daniel Craig. Everyone shut-ups once the movie was out.

What I love about James Bond movies is that everyone agrees that Goldfinger and FRWL are the best movies, but everything else is up for debate. I can't think of another franchise where that's the case.

Casino Royale beat Skyfall....but not by much.
Onto the next one. Out of the two most popular Indy movies, which one do you think triumphs?

I don't need a minute; Raiders. Last Crusade is great, too, but it seems to rely a lot on its comedy to help make it so, whereas every aspect of Raiders is expertly done, period.

Last Crusade. I like comedy and action especially when they are done well together.
I'm looking at you Michael Bay!

Raiders, but not by much. Both are pretty much perfect, but Raiders has more grit, and the scenes are just a bit more classic.

Raiders. It has more defining moments and scenes, plus its opening sequence is one of the best in film history.

Last Crusade. It's gets the edge for purely nostalgic reasons. And Sean Connery. And it's takes the fantastic model that Raiders was and improves on it.
But Raiders still has my favorite Indy girl.

If we're going for nostalgia, Temple of Doom should have gotten some love. I remember, as a kid, that was everyone's favorite Indy movie. I didn't realize people "hated" that movie till the Internet came along. When I was growing up, it was:
1. Temple of Doom 2. Last Crusade 3. Raiders
And I didn't know a single person who disagreed with that.
But now, as an adult, there's no doubt that Last Crusade is the best Indiana Jones movie. The other two - or three - don't come close. Pairing Harrison Ford with Sean Connery was lightening in a bottle. You can point out every scene in Raiders if you want, I don't care, nothing in that movie can top the chemistry between Ford and Connery.

People never comment on how fun Marcus Brody is in Last Crusade. He wasn't terribly necessary overall but was a great character nonetheless.
'Does anybody speak English? Or even Ancient Greek? Water? No thank you, fish make love in it.'

The actor played the butler in Trading Places and he was great in that too.

"I'd rather spit in your face. But since I haven't got any spit.."
Temple of Doom was and remains my sister favorite. We all view it fondly however. But yes Last Crusade takes the cake.
