But To Die For, starring Nicole Kidman, is a shit movie. I respected it in High School, but now that I know the real life story - thanks to Captivated, the HBO documentary - I think the "fictional version" is a step-down.

Crazy is trying to be Robert Altman. Anderson is best when he's actually being himself, not other people (Scorsese and Altman are two obvious influences). Don't even get me started on that unbelievably stupid ending. Good performances, that's it. |
