Note taken for film club. He meant he skipped all the plot to masturbate to the good parts. What I remember about Catwoman is that horrendous all-CGI Halle Berry crawling on walls, and even using it to wag her hips in an almost impossible height. It was too funny to jerk off to. |

THE FINAL VOTE:Man-ThingA part of me wants to give Catwoman more credit for it's outrageously dumb stylistic choices that make the film almost amusing. But when you get to the point where there's an all CGI Halle Berry absurdly wagging her hips in what the filmmakers clearly thought was sexy for some reason, even Catwoman's so-bad-it's-good tendencies start to become muddied. And the fact that this movie almost seemed set-up as a failure to point at and say "female led superhero movies don't make money" just make it even more frustrating. Man-Thing probably should have heeded its far more interesting comic source more than it does, but as a crappy monster movie time-killer, I don't dislike it. That simpleness makes it the clear winner here. Also noted, a third penalty has been decreed, to Wyldstaar for talking back to me. Penalty issued to Catwoman, meaning Wyldstaar voted for Catwoman twice and will never live it down. IanTheCool's penalty has been shifted to Man-Thing because I am the dad in this fucking house, and I can. Anybody who disagrees gets the belt. The ScoreCatwoman: 3

F4. Chiklis and Evans are pretty good in their roles from a movie the studio had no idea what to do with.
Alba is awful.
Constantine is just bad all around.

Fantastic Four
It's not easy for me to vote in favor of this movie. I have very specific ideas as to how these characters should be handled, and FF doesn't do any of them. While FF doesn't hold up well at all, it's not bad as a product of it's time. By 2005, John Constantine was considered in England to be a British icon and well known to look exactly like the blonde, English musician/actor Sting, so of course Hollywood cast brown haired, American Keanu Reeves in the role. To make matters worse, we get Shia The Beef during his obnoxious sidekick phase as well. My ability to forgive has it's limits.

Yeah, I get the beef about the casting/look, etc. about Constantine in the film, but the movie itself is still really solid.
