I hated the 3rd movie even as a kid. We'd always try to marathon the three, and about 10 minutes into the Japan one we'd all be asleep. Not that any of these are works of art, but III fucking sucks. How the fuck do you have a feudal Japan movie and NOT have Shredder's ancestor or some shit in it? They had that dopey white guy villain instead. Awful. Yeah, TMNT III more or less killed the franchise Even though the cartoon was getting interesting |

This Versus This Versus This Go The scene from Mortal Kombat is the easy winner here. None of these scenes look particularly good, but Mortal Kombat has some nice dramatic touches to fit into the over-the-top style that work and the lighting is at least coming from a variety of places to give the sets dimensionality. It at least looks like some thought went into things aside from the highly routine nature of the Ninja Turtles clips. The second Turtles clip is the worst by far, but that's kind of unfair since it's a mall set and has to deal with fluorescent lighting. It's not as ugly as some films shot under fluorescent lights have since they've smartly dimmed the look down a bit, but it's not pretty either. I like contrast in images. I'm biased. |
