I did this in 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006 , 2005, 2004, and for the last decade. It's worked out fairly well. It's very simple. You post your top ten movies list of 2018 then I will splice them all together into one definitive list of the top ten of 2018. The lists should be ranked, no ties. Traditionally I do this the week before the Oscars but every year I get people who don't come to the boards every day who miss the whole voting period so I want to experiment this year and start things a full month before the due date and see if that helps turnout. That said, if you want to wait a bit and try and catch up on movies feel free to wait until closer to the due date. You have until 2:00 P.M. CST on 2-8-2019
Polls are now closed
Just to clarify: Qualification only requires that the movie be released in 2019 in America. Qualification has nothing to do with overseas distribution or the date you actually see the movie. You're welcome to edit your list after posting, but please give me a heads-up when you do and keep you original post intact so I know what has changed. Oh, and try to list them in ascending order from one to ten, and not the reverse. Anyway, I really want the highest turnout possible for this, don't hesitate to vote, even if you don't think you've seen as many movies as you would have liked, just vote. This forum has 108 registered members if even a quarter of them vote in this we'll still have numbers that rival the old board. I will be promoting the hell out of this and will not hesitate to start tagging people if the turnout isn't great.

Almost need some sample lists just to get my juices flowing... I have now officially seen everything except for birds of passage and some documentaries.
I do believe this was a lackluster year tbh. But maybe when i put it all together it'll be more impressive.

I'll definitely get mine in before once I pound through a few stragglers. I heard Avenger Endgame was pretty good.

I watched Glass last week. It was trash.
The budget was like 20m. Why? This was one of few guaranteed mini hits. It deserved 100m.
Fuck m night for not making a crowdpleaser and failing to unfuck his own legacy.

He knew it wasn't worth going into massive debt for. He must surely have had backing after Split's success? If not then I retract my rant. He made someone a shit ton of cash off those two movies either way. I hope it was himself.

It was also produced by Blumhouse. Budgets on their movies never go over $20 mil.

He also basically had to give away international distribution to Disney, who made Unbreakable back when they still made such things and still owned the characters, and that made it less of an enticing project for Universal to put serious money behind.

1. The Irishman 2. The Lighthouse 3. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood 4. Parasite 5. Ad Astra 6. Little Women 7. Uncut Gems 8. Us 9. The Farewell 10. Marriage Story
I might modify this if I manage to see A Hidden Life and Portrait of a Lady on Fire in a timely fashion, but that seems unlikely.

1. JoJo Rabbit 2. Avengers: Endgame 3. Joker 4. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood 5. The Irishman 6. Parasite 7. The Peanut Butter Falcon 8. A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood 9. Uncut Gems 10. How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World
It’s rare that my first draft of a year end list remains intact. I was worried either 1917 or Little Women would come in last minute to mess things up a little, but this is the list I was already very happy with before I had to potentially change it in service of a few stragglers.

With each moment of hate I grow more powerful.
Let it flow through you, young Skywalker.
