Well if they both hadn't scoffed at the questions after the game on Sunday, I don't think this would have been a big deal. But they made their bed by scoffing at the questions and making the reporters feel like idiots. The media doesn't like when smug assholes act like smug assholes.

Yeah, I really don't think this whole thing is a big deal on its own, it's more being blown up because the Patriots (namely Bellicheat) have a history of this. It makes you wonder what other sneaky things they've tried and gotten away with in the past. It's not really a question of whether or not deflating the balls gave New England some sort of advantage, but rather that they were doing something dishonest that possibly could've been a difference maker at all.

Yep. I never thought they would lose the game, nor did I think it gave them much of an advantage. It's just...no one likes a cheater. After all, this is the second time it's happened.

Exactly. I will say though that as lame as this whole issue is no matter what side you're on, it's a lot more interesting than the usual media nonsense we have to hear about being reported for 2 weeks. "Marshawn Lynch likes skittles!" At least the discussion is football-related and important this year.
