... And Justice For All: Never seen it. I think the DVD was Pan & Scan only so I refused to rent it for the longest time. I wonder if there's a new version now. N/A
The Lives of Others: A Strong movie about government survailence. Guess it's still relevant. ****
Ocean's Eleven: A very enjoyable heist film which, in retrospect, probably didn't need sequels. ***1/2

Drive - Really enjoyed this a lot, had a unique style and tone that was often mystifying to watch. Took a conventional story we've seen millions of times and made it something new. Need to rewatch it, but very, very good. 8/10
Jackie Brown - This another one I need to rewatch, but it's very good as well. It's often the forgotten film from Tarantino, you know the only one all your friends who rave about the guy haven't seen. And while it may not pack the punch of his other work and runs a bit lengthy, it's full of what makes Tarantino great. Very good use of genre bending, plus you get to see Robert DeNiro play a really weird guy who smokes weed out of a snake bubbler the whole movie. 8/10

1. Drive: My love for this movie is well known. A+
2. Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves: Haven't seen, and don't really plan to.
3. Jackie Brown: Highly underrated and among Tarantino's best. Great performances and overall a highly engaging watch. A+

Drive - It's good. Characters are paper thin though. A compelling and cool opening sequence. B
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves - N/A (no interest)
Jackie Brown - I'm not the biggest QT fan but this was pretty good. Thankfully, from what I can remember, there's a lot less film-nerd pandering and more authenticity. B+

Drive: Style over substance to the Nth degree, but that style is pretty damn slick. ***
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves: Haven't seen it... in fact I doubt anyone has seen it since 1993. N/A
Jackie Brown: Awesome movie, Tarentino's secret masterpiece. ****

Blade Runner: One of the best films of all time and among the top three achievements in visual effects. A+
The Long Goodbye: I haven't seen it but I'd certainly like to. Robert Altman is awesome.
Brick: Fun watch, but nothing too special or memorable. B

Brick: Fun watch, but nothing too special or memorable. B Sweet, we're on the same train of thought. Check out "The Long Goodbye", I watched it in my film noir class in college and loved how Altman makes his own rules of noir (sunny scenes most of the time, a lot of it takes place on LA beaches, etc.) and Gould is really goofy and off the wall with his own take on the Marlowe character. Like most Altman movies, some people will hate it for being unconventional while others (mostly film buffs) will praise it for being just that.

Blade Runner: Awesome movie with some visuals that are still unmatched A
The Long Goodbye: Interesting experiment in setting a Marlowe story in a contemporary setting, don't quite love it as much as some critics seem to. B
Brick: Cute movie B-

Umberto D. - Excellent, never has a movie about a grumpy old man been so touching and enjoyable. Well, maybe "Wild Strawberries", but this movie is a must for anyone serious about film. 10/10
The Elephant Man - Beautifully shot in black-and-white by David Lynch and boasting excellent performances from John Hurt and Anthony Hopkins, "The Elephant Man" is one of the best films of the '80s and one of the best biopics ever made. 9/10
Still haven't seen TCM from 1974, and I need to.

Haven't seen it
Good movie about it
a classic - it used some really innovative filming techniques and used some unusual perspective shots

1. Umberto D. - B
Good, but I don't remember much. Ending was a letdown though. I don't believe it's nearly as emotional as it tries so hard to be.
2. The Elephant Man - A
Still great. There isn't much else to say.
3. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) - A
A masterpiece of horror filmmaking. One of my favorites.

I think even calling it a slasher is doing it a disservice.

"Chainsaw Massacre" sounds plenty slasher-like to me.
