I've only seen one episode of the new X-Files, and I enjoyed it a lot. It was a stand-alone episode though, and all of the best classic X-Files episodes were stand-alone as well. It was the episode with the lizard man who dressed like Kolchak: The Night Stalker (one of the primary inspirations for Chris Carter to create The X-Files).  |

I'll just be happy if it means we finally get a Star Trek series that takes place further in the future, so they can do whatever they like with the appearance and technology. All of the designs in the new movies and Discovery would have been perfect for a further-future series.

They have me interested, as a good trailer should. I'm not particularly excited for it, though. I have to wonder if this show is going to be something intelligent and thought provoking, or are they going to run into a threat, then the crew just vents plasma from the warp core though the navigational deflector to generate an inverse tachyon beam so that blah, blah, blah...
