oh man. This ruins Picard for me...
They are so on point. And my adult brain has forgotten much of the plot points fro TNG back when I was binging all these episodes in Middle/High School

A lot of their points irked me the wrong way while watching the first episode (especially the changes to attitude and stance within the Federation). I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt for the time being simply because I'm liking it more than Discovery just in that single episode alone. Plus I'm looking forward to all the cameos, which are going to be far better than simply bringing in old characters that have been recast.
I'll still prepare myself for disappointment either way. Not going to get my hopes up. With Kurtzman having a hand in it, it's a very real possibility. Looking forward to the Frakes directed episodes.

Well it sounds like they are not fans of Kurtzman, and have been pretty much against Discovery since the beginning.
So I wasn’t too shocked when they didn’t like Picard

Do I need to be familiar with anything Star Trek related to watch this? You're better off watching Discovery. I have no idea how much you could follow without some prior knoweldge to TNG series and/or Movies. |

Beyond won’t help. I would at least try and watch the TNG movies.
Honestly I would tell you to binge TNG Series. skip the fillers and your left with some good 10 episodes TNG episodes per season

I watched Star Trek Beyond so that should help. Lol. Our A.I. sshuttari doesn’t know when you’re fucking with him. The show is in continuity with the TNG movies and the J.J. treks. They almost completely ignore the tv shows as RLM pointed out. |

Wow. Star Trek: Picard is only ten episodes, and episode two is nothing but exposition and padding. There's nothing that was in episode two that couldn't have been put in episode one.

What a terrible episode. I was so hopeful when the show first started but now... Yeah it's getting worst and this is easily the worst episode.
I'll still finish the season off. But man... This is going down hill fast.
