On a MCU watch since inception, and this still stands out as the best of the bunch. The humor, the gravity, the multiple vignettes all work. And the end is still a damn gut punch with Spider-Man and Iron Man. Not sure how much support it's gonna get but I'm gonna nominate it in the AFI thing. We give LOTR one movie as a series, and others the same, this should be the MCU one if it gets one. I'll vote for it. Infinity War is the best Avengers movie. You got my vote. |

If we can have Godfather and Godfather II, we can have Infinity War and Endgame. I'd anticipate pushback on giving two slots out to a pair of superhero movies, especially since The Dark Knight is already voted in. But there are "Franchise representatives" for Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, it's not too much of a stretch to claim the MCU needs representation as well, since it's been a Hollywood institution that rippled through the business since it began (Justice League, MonsterVerse, Conjuring, and yes, even Dark Universe). What we could do is a placeholder "Avengers representation" nominee and then determine which movie it is based on a popular vote later on should it make the cut. |
