I peered into the vastness and saw nothing. Felt nothing.

Feels very unnecessary. Wish I still worked at an IMAX theater, though, so I could get one of those posters.

I'll wait for the posters to appear on eBay.

Fun. Time to see if the show can surpass the source material.

We are getting so close to the end of the books.... Arg. Sounds like the show will catch up this year. I know a lot of the storylines are already going to be venturing into their own territory now, and I've heard rumor that Danerys and Jon will both be caught up by the end of Season 5. I'm hoping that George can publish "The Winds of Winter" before Season 6 starts and can provide the showrunners a full breakdown of the story, so it can be a very close adaptation. Season 7 though, I'm sure, they'll be on their own with just general direction and finger-pointing from George.

He already told them how it ends.
The show will most certainly pass up the books, and it makes me nervous. Should I stop watching the show? It will inevitably be spoiled for me, but the books are so much better.
I'll probably just keep watching though, but it is disappointing that it will be spoiled by the show that initially got me interested in the books.

I know, my point though was that while the showrunners may have the final ending and pieces of what every character does from here to that/their ending they probably don't have everything and the writers will have to rely on guesswork at some point. My hope is that, instead of that, George and the showrunners can sit down at some point and go over everything so that the show can stay true to George's intention. He obviously doesn't want to ruin his own series, but this is his own fault. He should have realized the series would catch up to him when he signed the rights over and he should have expedited his own efforts to stay ahead.

I actually wish the showrunners had no idea what George is thinking and just did completley their own thing.

What are your theories on how the series will end?
Having seen the entirety of the show but not having read the books, my guesses are limited. Right now I'm assuming that one of two things will happen and both of them are somewhat similar:
1. Danerys will arrive with her army to take the throne. Jon Snow will unite Westeros AND the white walkers to fight off Danerys, and Jon will take the throne at the end.
2. Danerys will arrive with her army and unite with Jon and his army to fight off the white walkers. Either Jon or Danerys will take the throne. This seems like overkill though since Dany has a massive army, Jon would be able to rally a big army, and we haven't gotten the impression that the white walkers are potentially significant in number. Maybe I'm wrong on that last point, I just don't really recall getting the impression they were large in number.

I don't remember us acknowledging just how good Sigur Ros' version of the Rains of Castamere was in the last season, plus this gives me a chance to show off my new tattoo that I don't think I've ever done before (and is also a Sigur Ros motif, hence the tenuous link):

What is special about a little guy in a raincoat that you would put it on your arm?

Oh. What if he stops liking that band, or grows to think they're only so-so?
