There's a lot of other stories to continue, but this episode could have made a great season finale. I can't imagine next week's topping it, but you never know. All the other stories we need to see just don't seem like they'll be as interesting.
Still the best giant I've seen in film or television. He was awesome. Too bad he's gone (and the last of his kind?).

IanTheCool JibbsThis was immensely satisfying. Let's hope GRRM finishes next book before next season so we can compare how this plays out. But it was pretty interesting how meat pies and Manderlys came into play here. The guy that plays Jaime killed it this episode.

I don't know if this is common knowledge or just my observation but much of the writing of GoT is influenced by history and classical literature (Lannisters v. Starks compared to Lancasters v. Yorks in 15th century England, among several other 'coincidences'). The pie could be related to several things but Titus Andronicus and Thyestes stick out. |

Well I'm glad Martin didn't try to change the story just so it wouldn't be the same as some fan theories (as far as we know anyway). I feel like there are some authors and writers that try to do that and the stories end up becoming muddled.
Awesome episode. This may be my favorite season so far, but I could just be riding the high for the moment.

It could certainly be the best season so far. There was hardly ever any filler, each episode was packed with great suspense, information, and action. Great season, and the finale did not disappoint. Except that Zombie Mountain still hasn't gone on an epic rampage yet.

Yeah, I'd say season 1 is my favorite. I'd say this is better than last season and probably the 4th. Somewhere between 2 and 3, I'd say.
Definitely a great season.

That was the only thing I was wondering about. Is she apart of that assassination group now? Was the whole thing a test? Did she steal the face on the way out? If she's not in the group, then I'm assuming he decided to let her go as the result of her survival, but surely he wouldn't be too fond of her swiping a face.

If she didn't steal the face, that means she would've had to have killed someone for that face. And if she stole the face, she would've had to have replaced the face. I'm banking that he knew she would take a few faces, but I don't think we're going to get the answer to that one.
