So you think Martin had that planned from the getgo? That was a pretty good twist/explanation.
I will say the one thing I have found annoying is the dire wolves. Are we down to one now? They've continued to become more and more insignificant, and frankly kinda disappointing. At least give us a scene where the wolf puts up a good fight or something, before just jumping to its immediate death.

The showrunners have said that the ending was straight from GRRM, which, man, gotta give the dude props. Two direwolves left if Shaggydog wasn't a fake: Nymeria is off somewhere in the Riverlands and Ghost is still with Jon at the Wall.

I agree, the killing of Summer is too far.

Do you think they killed them for budget reasons?

Or they're tired of them.

Maybe they've just run their course. Truth be told, I'm also a little disappointed too. I thought they would have had a much larger impact on the story (seeing as how they're made out to be some kind of plot device and an "omen" in the first book/episode) than they have thus far.

They very well may in the book. For example, warging into Ghost is most likely how Jon survives dying.

It won't be the same now that Gregor is more dead than Sandor.

I'm worried, guys....
The lack of deaths....
We're being lulled into a false sense of security.

So far I'm disappointed that nothing has really been done with the fact that Jon actually died and came back. He's jsut sort of going about business like normal. That whole thing has had no effect as of yet.

True. I've felt the same. It's also been on my mind that unfortunately very few can confirm his death as well, so it's going to become something of myth and legend, outside of the few who could swear by it. I'm worried, guys.... The lack of deaths.... We're being lulled into a false sense of security. There's still the infamous episode 9 to look forward to. I'm wondering if they're toning down the unexpected deaths, though, since the show is nearing its end. I've said for ages that the horrid deaths of seemingly key characters, as terrible as they are, only work because the story isn't over. You can't keep doing that till the bitter end. People would be pissed if deaths like those occurred at the end of it all.

That was a solid episode. I totally though we were getting Stoneheart though. The build up was there.

Are we actually going to see some major battles? Possibly two of them? They've already said the finale will be the longest episode that they have released.
I would hate for the next episode to start and it just shows a dragon licking his chops as the smoke is rising from a finished battle, while Daenerys looks sternly at Tyrion.

I thought it was funny that Arya was practically offered a role in the play..as her sister, Sansa.

This was the first episode where I was able to watch after being caught up. My friend said 'I've been waiting 3 seasons for that to happen' regarding that one guy and whatever might have happened to him and I've only been waiting about 2 weeks since I first saw him on screen. That said I thought it was a pretty sweet episode.
